Although he started off strongly Jaydan was rapidly losing ground. Blue eyes cast about him with trepidation as his pulse quickened in his ears. He had failed in so much recently he could not be defeated in his element!
With wings kicking even harder and body drifting easily through the violet rings, making it a personal quest not to touch the edges, Jaydan soared. Below the ground whizzed by in a blur of colors, sceneries shifting like water. He bowed his neck to stare down at them, nearly missing a now silver wing so he swerved abruptly to make it through. His nostrils puffed with the exertion and his chest began to ache but Jaydan pressed on. As he arced back over to steady himself from his sudden movements as strong gust of wind coming from the north shoved roughly against him. He tilted in the air and dropped altitude suddenly. His gut lurched into his throat and his limbs thrashed uselessly before he pulled up, nearly knocking the ring free as he dove into it. It went on with this fight to fly for the duration of the forest below, suddenly letting up as the trees began to change beneath him, growing darker and most sinister.  |
