Isopia was slightly annoyed as Ampere's much larger and much more obvious form landed near to her. Shuffling her black feathers, the raven-girl tried to appear just like any other bird, not wanting the attention of those below. However once the blue began to speak of the justifications regarding the treatment of companions that she'd been dying to hear, her animosity faded away into pure academic intrigue.

"Well, it isn't as though they can see into the mental states of those around them." She interrupted as Ampere cited their selfishness and greed. "Obviously one is a better fit than the rest, but how are they to know that? Objectively there is a right answer, but subjectively each obviously views themselves as the best candidate, or they wouldn't have 'entered'." The demi-child didn't believe in acrasia - irrational action. One couldn't choose to do what one knew/believed/thought to be the worst thing for them to do. Even if those who 'entered' had mistaken mental states about their abilities, at the very minimum they didn't think that they did. They all really thought they were the best match for the eggs they sought.

The girl heard the anger and hate in Thunderhead's voice as she named a stallion - Oxy - as having taken something from her. In the depths of her vast mind, Isopia wondered if all of this wasn't seeded in some obvious psychological incident. Deep down, did Ampere crave companionship? Did this all start as a way to justify her slight at the hands of this stallion? It certainly seemed like Ampere was more upset that someone took something from her, than that the egg remained in 'captivity'. After all, Ampere didn't conclude by saying, "...and with Oxy the egg had a terrible life." Just that it was taken.

Although Isopia was generally on board for justice, equality and all that, this little mission statement Ampere was giving sounded far too fueled by emotion, and not enough in fact. "And you know this for a fact? No one has tried to return a companion back to the wild? No one learns anything about what their companions eat and do and think about, when they aren't bonded? From what I've seen, the companions bond at a very young age - once they are 'saved', for in each case that's what seems to be happening - they choose to bond. Now, you might think that they are incapable of making such a decision - and so instead of calling off the whole bonding experience, you might just object to how it's done. Perhaps companions should reach a certain age - where their minds are capable of real choice - before they bond." The girl shrugged. She didn't know how the system worked either - it was why she was here - but intuitively she knew that Ampere was not telling her everything. She was getting the recruitment speech all over again - just the negatives and atrocities. font color="#e8c5b0">"-but maybe that isn't possible. Maybe it happens the way it does because that's the only way it can."

Internally sighing, Isopia hopped from her branch and flew upwards to land nearer to Ampere so that she wouldn't have to shout and distract the show which was happening below.

"You haven't known any other life." The girl interrupted once again, turning a judgmental golden stare on Thunderhead. "Neither have I. No one knows the life other than the one they have. That isn't an argument. " Her small avian shoulders shrugged. The girl knew nothing of fighting - not yet. It interested her, but her bones were still too weak to attempt anything yet, lest she ruin her body for life. "I don't know. But what little I do know about the bond, it isn't just one way control. You don't just make them do things. If both minds are open, it would make sense that if there are reasons for one to fight, there are reasons for both to fight. If the companion aids it's bonded, then it seems it is accepting those reasons as its own." Her voice was less convinced now - she really didn't know anything about fighting.

Raven blinked her hard golden eyes as Thunderhead named her Father as well as the tie that connected them. Many - especially those who had seen her out of her raven form - knew she was the offspring of the earth. It was not surprising that Thunderhead did, even if it was slightly annoying that her personal information was so easy to come by.

"If my Father says it is still the case, then it is. He takes these matters very ... seriously." What she meant, was that he was overly emotional when it came to companions, but she didn't think Thunderhead needed that extra ammunition.

"So what it is exactly you're arguing? That the only time you should keep a companion is if You've saved it, AND have tried to let it live in the wild/resisted the bond? Only then should you keep it? Or, do you think you know better than the Gods, and think that they have simply overlooked these lands and the happenings within it?" Her beak clicked shut at this, instantly regretting that phrasing. Given what had happened just recently with the Moon Goddess and the death of her brother, it seemed that what she had said was in fact possible. Huffing, she adjusted her wings before continuing. "You object to them fighting - but do you only object because you think that they have no option? If a companion - creatures like dragons who are naturally disposed to violence - want to partake, what then? Would you restrict their natures because you think it's unfitting? "

Composing herself, the death-marked child shook her head and exhaled. "It seems you aren't against bonding. It seems that you are concerned more with an equitable relationship - that companions should not be taken when they can't be provided for, as in the case of pure selfishness in drops. That they shouldn't be mistreated - as with not learning about their natural patterns and preferences, or using them in fights. That the reason companions should bond and to whom they should bond, is not just arbitrary. That it has a purpose, as my Father said."
