He hadn’t had much luck with that one. The golden grumbles as he slides along the pine forest. Still he was most shaken over that run in with Ophelia. Even now he looked back from where he had come, very unsure. But regardless of what had happened, he was still currently, without a pup to drag back to the Basin. Crowned head shakes and he stops to listen to those around him. There wasn’t much there. Snorting the gold looks back, he looks waiting, and sure enough, Haldir steps through the trees. His elegantly slender legs allowing him to move with an ancient grace. Oh course it was all for sport. As soon as he say the gold waiting on him he let a curious grin and dashed forward. His heels kicking up in the fallen leaves of the few hardwoods. Earth eyes roll and he turns away, trudging after his companion, waiting to find another prey.

Haldir hears it first. His light bounding came to a jerked halt, and the golden stops and listens. A call echos through the woods, cool, but edgy. That sounded about right. Haldir looked back and up at the gold, and when the golden creature turns, so does he. The pair come walking through the pines. He approaches without his usual caution. His patience long gone for that. Ahead he sees a most feminine creature. She reclines under the shade of pines, but the sun still flashed her silver back. She was a pretty little thing. But most of all she had the only thing that his herd still required (whether he agreed with it or not). She had a horn.

But she was no longer alone. Another stallion presents himself just as the gold comes to the edge of the shadows. He stripped, much like Saffron the tigress, and has a strong presence. The golden though did not know him, and knew not his herd. He did hesitate, just a step, on thinking of the competition. He never competed very well when there were other herds. Still, she was such a pretty thing, and the edges her voice had held were most alluring to his prefer descriptions.

So the golden steps into the light. His crowned head tucked slightly, and shoulders gliding under the shimmering gold cloak. His head holds an elegant regality. Oh most certainly we know it a lie, but did they? But wait- oh yes, it isn’t a lie anymore. A smile grows on his lips more from that thought than the others, but he does not let his eyes unfocus from them. Head dips ever slightly. “Welcome indeed to Helovia.” The golden also turns and nods to the other. He was playing a right nice gentleman now. Just so lovely. You’d never know he was a vicious, manipulative, cunning snake. Oh but he wasn’t alone. Haldir had followed though gold, though most wary of the tiger painted equine he had hesitated. The dark deer was rarely afraid, but he still bore one claw scar down on his hip. Still, at last he comes, emboldened by meeting yet another pretty lady. The golden looks down to him, pretending the deer had never once irritated in his life (a rather big lie that time), and then back to the girl. “This is Haldir, and I am Thranduil of the Aurora Basin, at your service.” The traditional greeting, though a worn phrase from his lips, sounded like a sweet phrase said just for her. But the golden had learned the danger of being too sweet, and so had toned it back a little. His tasseled tail began to flick at his fetlocks, but the rustling pines there made not a sound. Of course this is a most gentlemanly show, so the gold waits for his (supposed) competitor to introduce himself.
