He was not left alone long ere a squeal had the lad spinning on his heels, wings flaring out and head tossing into the air, but he did not reply his beloved twin's whinny with one of his own; no, he was angry at her, and made it known as his ears pinned back when she drew close, crystal-blue eyes drawn into narrow slits of disapproval as she halted before him. "Where you go?" He asked, disapproval just dripping from his voice. He might not have been afraid, but that didn't mean he didn't worry about her. She was reckless, wild... honestly if you looked at them you would think that Hawke would be the wild-child, with his strange attraction to bones and undying curiosity to shove his nose into e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. Yet no, Aelin, the sweet-looking little girl was the crazy one. He wasn't given time to scold her as a... cactus began to...yell... Hawke's gaze turned, dumbfounded as he stared at the flailing cacti, jaw actually going slack as his mind just... shorted out. Yep. Nope. Not possible, not happening, bye-bye brain function. It was Aelin's words that kick-started the boy's mind, and he lept forward, using his long neck and head to push Aelin back, away from the ta-...ta-... okay there had to be someone hiding behind the cactus. Otherwise Hawke was just... yeah no, someone was hiding back there. "Gaucho is our sire. What do you want with us?" He demanded, wings flared, one covering Aelin in case the... the person behind the cactus shook it again and tried to hurt them. Ears pinned back against a curly mane, Hawke's tail lashed against his rump, nostrils flaring as he let out a snort. Quickly they were joined by Owl, who landed silently upon Hawke's croup, regarding the cactus with his wide, dark eyes. Even he was downright stumped by the situation, his head tilting nearly completely upside-down in his confusion.
