Solstice, Aaron & Azale Moniet
No bond is ever stronger, than that of a Mother and her Children

The invasion was over, well as far as Aaron was concerned. He hadn't wasted any time in getting back to his dam. However when he had found her, she was struggling her way back down from the Fields. She had changed her mind about having the new baby up that high. Instead she wanted to go to the Deep Forest, to see how the outcome of the invasion was. It had been on her way down, that the pain began. Worried brown eyes looked over his mother, not really sure what to do. She insisted and continued down the narrow path. Carefully Aaron moved along side his dam, helping her down.

It took what seemed like hours, well really it had been an hour maybe more to get to the Deep Forest. Moment they were under the trees she collapsed. Worried the painted knight stood near, never feeling more helpless to help his mother. Solstice in the mean time knew what to do this time..... But it wasn't as easy as it had been with Aaron... Did this mean the child would have wings? She couldn't worry now. On her side the gold and ivory fem pushed and strained.....

-----------------------------------Time Lapse-----------------------------

Hours of hard complicated labour later, the painted mare was leaning up to clean her new born child. She smiled, licking her beautiful white coat gently. Gently she ran her tounge along the child's wings.. Oh what was this? She had another, smaller set of wings. Aaron stood close, watching over his mother and baby sister. Softly Solstice whispered "Welcome to the world Azale Moniet." Hazel eyes gazed into the little filly's orange eyes. Such interesting eyes. Her gaze then lifted to Aaron, and whispered softly "Meet your little sister... I hope you two will bond, and that the bond will be stronger than that of my own siblings and I."

The little filly about that time started to struggle to stand. She would get about half way up, before toppling back over. Solstice watched on, waiting. It was as she stood Aaron noticed what was wrong. Wordlessly he moved to help support his limping baby sister. Clearly the long birth had been hard on both mother and child. Sols slowly stood, and Moniet quickly moved to drink for the first time. There was only one part of this happy family missing.... A father.... The painted mare sighed, wondering if the stallion who helped create this wonderful blessing would care to see her.... Would anyone want to be a part of this disfuctional little family?[/align]

A boisterous trill echoed through the Deep Forest as Kiba landed on a branch to view the new born. He had been out hunting when the scent of others attracted him to this area. Dipping up and down on his perch, the brown immediately recognised her mother as being Solstice. The femme who had the same pelt as his bonded's, he didn't recognize the other paint however. He outstretched his wings and flew down to the trio, noisily chattering away in greeting to the foal who was drinking from her mother. Tail flicking from side to side in exploding excitement.

Undergrowth snapped between hooves as the gilded sight of Torasin walked into the little gathering, grunting as a branch got caught on his forelock. "Kiba what are you-" Untangling himself finally, his green oculars caught the sight of the new born and her mother with a gasp. He felt embarrassment heat inside him and stood rather forlornly beside the now freed branch, lost for words. Torasin hadn't indented on finding Solstice here with a new born, he felt like he had intruded in something private. Kiba clearly felt none of his bonded's shyness, for he had already made his way over to Aaron with beady eyes to say his loud greeting. The paint wondered briefly if his brown friend had noticed the limp in the filly. It was a little like when his sons were born, they were sickly for sometime but it was slowly getting better now.

Torasin took a few gentle steps forwards before stopping and smiling brightly, lowering his head towards the infant. "Forgive my intrusion ma'am. You have birthed a most wonderful child." He complimented the baby girl with mossy oculars brimming with joy. The gentleman lifted his head and looked over to Aaron. The boy had most certainly grown since the last time he'd seen him. "And you sir, congratulations on a new sister." The curt, polite vocals calmly voiced with a dragon's colourful trill emphasizing it.

The dragon flew back to his bonded and sat upon his back to watch the newborn filly in awe.

Solstice, Aaron & Azale Moniet
No bond is ever stronger, than that of a Mother and her Children

It was the mother who noticed that brown first. Her ears perked forward in curiousity. Aaron had told her of Torasin going down in the fight.... But now it seemed the stallion who shared the same colors as she was up and moving. Aaron, ever protectful stepped lightly infront of his new baby sister ready to pounce on whoever the little brown belonged to. The pair however relaxed when they saw Torasin enter the clearing. Aaron smiled and nodded, finally greeting the brown warmly. It was Solstice who spoke first. "Hello Torasin.... I see you were successful in bondng with the egg." her hazel eyes sparkled warmly before looking to her nursing newborn. She could not help but smile, her eyes only showing the sadness of being single parent. "Thank you, i've named her Azale Moniet. It means Eternal Wish... or so my mother told me" It was only then Aaron spoke, acknowledging Torasin's congradulations. The young knight stepped aside as Moniet moved slowly back from nusing to look at the newcomers.

Orange eyes spakled with wordless interest at the one who looked like her dam and the creature upon his back. Being only minutes old slowly, wobbling and limping the entire way, she started to make her way curiously closer. Her wings, well the larger pair naturally tucked upon her back. The smaller pair... well kind of flopped off to the side. Once she was closer she stopped just short and reached her tiny muzzle out to the larger stallion.

Wanderlust had possessed the graying young stallion, lured him from the safety of the Throat and drove him beneath the encompassing canopy of trees that varied so greatly from the skyline he was so accustomed to day-to-day now. But he didn't seem to mind glimpsing the freedom of the sky only briefly between the tight-knit branches, or when the trees gave way to clearings. No, he strode along quite merrily, head bobbing gently to a tune only he could seem to hear. It was a melody that quickened his steps at times, snapping his tail in the air and rustling his wings. Accents to the beat? Perhaps, but he wasn't telling.

Ears twitched and flickered as a dragon's call reached them, eyes focusing anew on the world around him and less on the song in his head. Curiosity took him this time, goading his steps to follow the sound toward its source. It was only when the trees gave way to reveal the scene that he paused. Stopped and stood quietly beneath the shadowy boughs of the evergreens. Watched, and wondered. A painted mare stood across from a painted stallion with a brown dragon upon his withers. Beside her lingered a young stallion, painted as well and standing in a defensive demeanor. The winged stallion would have almost called them all a family, were it not for another.

On stilted legs, fresh and barely used, a pale filly tottered from her dam toward the golden paint. Familiar appendages adorned her back, making the young gray shift and rustle his own. Wings. Not just one set, but two. Familiar yet strange. His ears twitched back and forth in quiet fascination. Hadn't he seen a stallion in the distance at home with two sets of wings? Were he and this tiny filly related? Caught up in the thought, he stepped closer, a few steps. Head low, he watched with forward tilted ears. So... interesting.

The departure of Aaron was not lost on the mare. As swiftly as she was able, with the aid of her dragon, Akaith, she followed, though she was quite late in her arrival. A cloak of shimmering, illusionary magic draped itself over her hide as she trekked the lands, carefully, warily. Injuries ached and bled, bruises throbbed and her head was pounding. But she had said her bit, thanked those she needed to thank. It was time for her to push on, to keep on living. What better way to do that, then to attend the birth of a new life? The little brown Kiba had alerted Akaith to the happening, and with growing fondness in the mare Solstice, and concern for Aaron's wellbeing, Mirage forced herself to make the painful, stiff journey back to the Deep Forest. Without the aid of her dragon, she would never have made it, such was her exhaustion and overwhelming concern.

But she was met with success, her determination brought her sidled up to her beloved friend, Torasin, a warm whicker lingering in the back of her throat as she greeted him and those she knew who were present. The bundle of life that huddled in close to Solstice's side had wings, not only two but four, and Mirage recalled vaguely meeting three other individuals with such features. Silently, curiously, she mused at who the father might be, but did not press matters right here. A pegasus, with scent hailing from the Throat, also stood near by. The little shadow mare eyed his arabic build cautiously, they may be allies by herdland, but he was still a stranger, and a stranger, no matter their allegiance, could still behave in strange ways. Stiffly her nape lowered her tiara to him, recognising and acknowledging his presence and hoping to gain a friendly response in return, that would ease some of the tension that had stirred here.

"Solstice, congratulations are in order." Her voice, though tired and worn, still held that exotic strength, that undeniable call of one who leads. "She has the protection of the Qian, and the World's Edge, at her disposal." It was the mare's way of gently informing those present of the outcome of the battle that had been fought. A serious humbleness drifted across her features; for still she battled with guilt and hatred for warfare, yet had performed the necessary evil in order to earn rights to a herdland for herself, and her kin. Akaith chirruped her greeting, and landed upon the back of her bonded gently, so as not to cause more aches across Mirage's battered hide. The mare sighed, trying to find contentedness amongst the frazzle of emotions that riled within her, and refocussed upon the new life, Azale Moniet.

Torasin watched the little Azale Moniet as she nursed for the first time, eyes soft in their observing. A smile grew larger as her awkward movements took her a step closer to him with her muzzle out stretched. With a bend of his neck, the paint steed slowly lowered his own nose to gently touch the top of hers, folds of creamy mane falling forwards as he did so. He was certain she would be a pretty thing just like her mother, although Torasin didn't envy Solstice trying to keep an eye on a daughter who would eventually fly. The stallion looked at her little wings and chuckled ruefully.

Kiba trilled from upon his back, already spotting the young pegasus who had appeared. Torasin looked thoughtfully at the roan and wondered if he was this child's father. Although the way he watched was not like that of a father seeing his foal for the first time, more like curiosity. His decision of not to speak allowed his thoughts was backed up by the appearance of Mirage and a barrage of excitement from Kiba. A nicker escaped from his lips as she moved next to him and nose touching her shoulder in warm affection. It had been a while since they had met up like this, gone were the days where she'd be on his every trail. She had her own herd to lead now, the carefree days would be few and far between.

Torasin listened in when the Dragon Heart spoke, offering congratulations and protection from the Edge. He smiled fondly soon after, when had she become so serious? Maybe it was the battle and the weight of leadership.

Miiraage looks sad.

The voice in his mind almost made him jump. Lately he'd been able to communicate with Kiba and had become overjoyed by the fact. It was certainly convenient, although his bonded seemed to talk similar to a child. In time they both would grow better at it.

We can't have that can we.

His reply was followed by a slight bump into the obsidian mares side, only gentle as to not hurt her aches and pains. He followed it up by showing his normal, beaming happy demeanour which he applied to Solstice as well, turning back to look at the happy family. "If you ever need someone to watch over Miss Moniet here please don't hesitate to ask. Kiba would enjoy watching her learn to use those fluffy wings of hers."

Torasin kept his voice light and cheerful whilst Kiba bobbed up and down from upon his rump.

Solstice, Aaron & Azale Moniet
No bond is ever stronger, than that of a Mother and her Children

The filla squealed in joy and leaped forward playfully the moment the golden and white stallion's muzzle touched her own. Clearly the little one liked him. Solstice could not help but smile as Aaron let out a deep laugh. The young colt's attention quickly changed as newcomer arrived. He did not move, trusting that if the pegasus stallino meant any harm that Torasin and Kiba could protect his little sister while he handled things. Instead the bay and white steed spoke to the winged one. "Hello there." He tried to act friendly, but with his little sister so vunerable.... Well of course Aaron was going to make sure he was the best big brother he could be. Solstice offered a smile to the pegasus, smelling the same smell she had the night Moniet was concived. Was it possible that the two were from the same herd? No matter as yet another arrived and the golden paint greeted Mirage and Akaith warmly. "Mirage, thank you. It seems as if I am not the only one to be congratulated tonight. Congradulations on your new homeland." Her mind thought a moment on the ebon mare's offer of protection to Moniet. With one glance at her newborn, who was now playfully prancing around on her wobbly legs in front of both Mirage and Torasin. With a laugh the fem spoke again. "As you can tell, I will need all the help I can get. After all, she has enough wings for two pegasus." With a soft nicker the dam called her newborn back. However Moniet had other plans. Orange eyes looked to the dragon's before playfully bouning over to see the only one who had wings like her. She seemed to approve of both steeds. Aaron's body tensed, looking to the male as if you say Harm her, and you won't live to make another mistake. Moniet in the meantime reached out her muzzle again to touch with Eidolan.

Query had of course heard that Solstice was to have another child, she just wasn't quite sure as to when this child was to come.

Chance have it that today on one of her regular strolls across the land to take it all in. All of it's beauty and wonder that she didn't have a chance to take in during all that running in the race.

The forest was one of the places that she enjoyed visiting regularly. It reminded her so much of home on the farm.

The somewhat familiar trilling of a dragon caught her attention. She followed the sound back to Kiba, Torasin's cutie of a dragon. The little one was chirping away as usual and a smile swept across Query's face.

Query then realized that if Kiba was there, that Torasin must be close by as well, and she looked around and spotted him, and then went and stood next to him.

"Hello there, Torasin, how've you been? And how did your quest for magic go?"

Query then noticed Mirage. "And hello again to you too, Mirage. I trust that all is well with you?

And then up popped something that really took Query by surprise. A pegasus popped up and took in the sites, yet didn't say a thing.

Yes, Query had seen a few pegs and unicorns by now, but they still took her by surprise and amazed her.

Now Query finally noticed that everyone was all looking to one spot now. There she saw the cutest thing she had seen in a long time. It was a newborn filly...and not just any newborn filly a newborn filly with WINGS! What a sight this was. Query was practically beside herself with excitement now.

"Hello there little one. Aren't you just the cutest little thing?"

Query watched as the little filly reached out and nuzzled the winged stallion. And again, Query went into a flutter at the site.
