Gaucho glided high above, on wings of fire.

He saw Zekle immediately - had been casually watching him from his sky-perch since before Meg had come upon him. Since the boy was born, the Wildfire kept a distant but watchful gaze. Although Ampere had never confirmed that Zekle was his, the fact that she didn't immediately deny it strongly suggested that the boy was. However she had yelled - screamed to the point where her veins popped and spit covered his face - whenever he had mentioned the child. It pained Gaucho to keep a distance, and yet his forced-coldness was well worth keeping Ampere in whatever state of happiness he could manage.

Besides, if he didn't know Zekle's true lineage, certainly the boy wouldn't either? Ampere was certainly not so cruel as to tell Gaucho that he may or may not be the father and to stay away, while telling the boy that he was ?

As his Sultana moved towards his possible-child, Gaucho's concern piqued. Was there something wrong? Why was she there? Did she look concerned? Did he? From his mile-high position he could hear nothing of what was being said. Gritting his teeth, and deciding to forego his self-imposed restraining order, he descended.

Landing upon the auborn sands, the ever-burning Sultan moved towards the duo. Vorsa flit ahead happily, trilling brightly to Gwahir and then landing near Zekle to inspect what he was working on. In his antlers, Mara remained much more reserved, eyeing the pair but staying silent.

"Meg. Zekle-" Gaucho's warm--though rough-- voice faltered slightly as he said the boy's name. Previously he had thought of him as Zero, but Ampere had told him never to refer to him as that again. But something about using the child's given name, rather than his nickname, seemed to impress even more distance between the two.

Though perhaps he was simply over thinking it. Perhaps the one-winged creator didn't even know who Gaucho was.

"-everything okay?"
