Luna trotted down the border, her thick mane bouncing with her gait. The day brought sun, glistening down on her light back. Her arrival had come only a couple sunsets ago, and so far the place amused her. Luna grinned, and pulled to a halt when the trail exited into a warm clearing. "Just where I want to be..." The arabian murmured, her breath disappearing into the cool morning air. Today, the woods were silent. It seemed as if only the birds were here to welcome Luna on a fine morning day.

She was lonely, to start. Luna had been hoping to come across a creature who would follow her, a close attempt failing only days ago had upset her. Luna began to dose, soon awoken by a snap. Not a small one, yet large. "I hope it's an equine, maybe someone kind? Kind enough to turn me in the right direction." The unicorn said to herself.

Once again, he was in the Threshold. He often started his patrol through here, and although he'd just been through a harrowing battle, he would not abandon his duties. The gilded brute walked through the forest now, less pep in his stride than normal. His tawny pelt was marred with dried wounds, the ominous reminders of his rank. To him they were proud badges, for he had fought the Edge nobly and for a just cause. They were given a chance to share their home with the Qian, the fairly passive group which accepted anyone into their ranks. And he had heard and seen enough from the Edge to feel that the attack was right. He did not harbor any regret; he knew had entered the battle with his values present, unlike many others. He only fought other stallions, and had even risked his own life for Faelene's. Whether or not his valor was noticed by the dark mare had yet to be seen. Maybe she would hate him now, for coming into her herd-land and attacking her King. His mind growled out Mauja's tyrannical title. Would Faelene be able see past the loyalty she felt to her herd?

A soft murmer drew the stallion from his musings. He'd stumbled upon a white Unicorn mare, pretty, yet dawning a large and daunting horn on her brow. He'd only caught pieces of her quiet words; there was certainly something about kindness in them. She held no scents of the Edge, or any other herd he knew. Likely another traveler, hopefully one that was more hospitable than the last girl he'd met. Unable to keep his large winged presence hidden, Leander approached the girl. "Hello, miss. I apologize if I've disturbed you." He greeted, dawning his good-natured smile and dipping his crown in a gentleman's respectful bow. "I am Leander, a Warrior of the Dragon's Throat. If you need any assistance, I'd be glad to be of service." Bronze eyes studied the pale dame, wondered what kind of a reception she'd give him. Despite all his manners and good intentions, he was realizing that not everyone desired any companionship at all. And more so, that some mares could just be down right mean.

Luna stood to the back of the approacher, kind eyes blinking softly. Her Arabic nares breathed in the scent of many things. She couldn't quite find the other's scent through pine and brush, but the scent shone through as a stallion. The sound of unusual wind passage gave Luna the idea that the stud was a pegasus, and the winged creatures had generally been very judgemental towards Luna.

She sighed, and turned with a smile. "Hello." The arabian said in a calm voice. Notes carried through the air, although not traveling far. Luna looked him over, a palomino of sorts, and continued. "My name is Luna. I am about to deem myself lost." This ended with a chuckle, "I hardly know where I am anymore..." Her words faded, and the femme blinked gentle eyes. "Could you, perhaps, point me in the correct direction?" A smile invited itself onto her muzzle, and she accepted the pose of kindness without hesitation.

Warm air curled from the palomino's nostrils, a sigh of relief at the doe's kind words. Lately he'd encountered enough angry, resentful females to make his head spin. Too many wanted to berate anyone who give them the time of day, to push everyone away. At least this girl seemed friendly enough. His war torn body needed nothing else to tire it.
"Pleased to meet you, Luna." He smiled as the dark dame laughed, seemingly unafraid of his looming presence. "Well, there are many directions that you could take. There are three herds here in Helovia. The Dragon's Throat, the Foothills, and the Edge. All would be glad to accept you, although the Edge is undergoing some changes and new leadership right now." Deep chords did their best to explain what he knew. He almost warned her that trouble would likely stir in the Edge. Something told him that the Ice King and his horde would need a second lesson. A lesson he'd be glad to give them, should they try to harm the Qian. He thought it sad that those Unicorns couldn't just leave in peace or ally themselves with the Qian. Instead, they'd rather have bloodshed. Still, the Qian probably needed more members to fill it's new herd-land, and the tawny brute was not going to turn anyone away from them. But the Throat was his own home, and he would do his best to bring weary traveler's to it. For now, at least, it seemed to be the most resilient, safe place. With a gleam of patient hope in his ivory ringed eyes, Leander continued. "You would be more than welcome in the Dragon's Throat. It is an Oasis, with a strong, kind bunch. You would be free to stay as long as you choose, and even fill an important position if you desire. The positions of Medic, Soldier, Sleuth, Artisan's Apprentice, and Scholar are always open. And there is always ability to rise in the ranks." A hint of pride laced his warm visage, though he went on primarily to give Luna more of an idea of the system. "For example, I have earned the rank of Skilled Soldier."

Striking mights and maybes even more

A useless thing called life

It's a biting cold again

"Or you can come north, to the snows," spoke a voice, followed by a body gliding up through the trees. Pale white, scoured clean of filth and old blood, sprinkled with some black. A thin scar was all that remained of the slash across his cannons, though his hindquarters were still mostly hairless. Tor had done a wonderful job stitching his skin up and forcing the infection from his body, leaving him mostly whole and mostly sane. The loss of the Edge was still a bitter poison seeping through his veins, but he had to keep going - keep his exiled herd together, safe. Replenish their numbers. Strengthen them. His wounds had kept him from doing his duties, but now he had no excuses to keep him away from the mainland. It was harder to recruit when you had no fancy title to stick on your herd, but fact remained that his ragtag group of Outcasts were as much a herd as they had been when living in the Edge. They were still his pack of misfits and lunatics.

"Me and mine, we roam the Frostbreath, the tundra to the north. And do not let such a snow-clad appearance put you off, Lady, for if you but know where to look, you will find more life than you ever imagined." Only fools thought winter a season of sleep and death. Mauja's pale blue eyes glittered like frost in sunshine, even as they briefly settled on Leander. His memories of the war were hazy, mainly because he'd spent a lot of time on fire, but he was quite certain the large palomino had been there. Not that he really cared. He belonged to the Throat. Kri had, in her own way, betrayed him. He was too tired to think of it in any way but the entirety of Helovia being free game for the vindictive. Perhaps he should encourage Deimos to take an unchecked stroll through the World's Edge.

He fought down the humorless smirk, and instead tilted his head slightly, peering at Luna again. His face wore nothing of unpleasantness, only the open curiosity with which he met the world. "I happen to be an excellent guide, and I am sure that my kin would welcome you gladly."

How daring the young roan had become, since the battle for World's Edge. More and more she found herself in the Threshold, looking for new members to the Qian and World's Edge. It was by pure chance that she happened upon the small gathering of three. However one look around and her guard went straight up. There was a unicorn mare clearly new to Helovia, a pegasus stallion who smelled of the Throat just as Breeze did and.... Of all the unicorns to dare show thier face.... The ex-King himself. She had arrived just in time to hear Leander speak of the places in his homeland and hear the small speech the ex-king gave. As she looked to the Frostheart she stood up tall and proud before speaking. "Yes you could join him and surely freeze to death in the wilds of Helovia." Her gaze then turned to Leander, her gaze softening as she took note of his more recent wounds. Surely he had been among those from the Throat to help. Softly she spoke to the unicorn fem "I am Kiara, of World's Edge" Emerald eyes flashed to Mauja, daring him to say a word or attack. "As the soldier has surely said, World's Edge has recently come under new leadership by the name of Mirage the DragonHeart. We are still settling into ranks any many positions are open for newcomers like yourself. I have taken the role of Apprentice Nurse." Silently she shifted some, closer to the pegasus stallion who she trusted more than the Ice King. Her hindquaters still sported the marks of a unicorn's antlers. She was not likely to give the Ice King a chance to add to them.

by the time I noticed; you were already g o n e

Torasin had watched from a distance as the poor mare Luna was pounced on by various bodies hoping to draw her back with them. She seemed a kind mare, older than he and with a unicorn at that. As soon as Mauja had appeared the paint had feared for the safety of Leander. He didn't want to remember that menacing day when he had wondered into Edge when ruled by the horns. The scar still reminded him although by now it was slowly healing away. Torasin had decided not to step in until Kiara appeared. Gilded ears went back and he felt like his heart had jumped into his mouth, what was she doing wondering into such company?! Not really wanting to join in without his dragon but not wanting to leave Kiara by herself, Torasin moved swiftly into the group.

"Excuse my intrusion ma'am, I am sure by now you are overwhelmed by these offers." He moved his body next to Kiara and gave two nods to Leander and Mauja. Not wanting to pick a fight with either of them. Torasin chose his next words with care with Luna in mind. "I am Torasin, Advocate to the Sun and also a Nurse hailing from the same land as Kiara here." His vocals were his usually happy curt as he gave the mare a withering look of sympathy. "If you are of open mind our newly formed herd would be glad to offer you a home as I'm sure the Throat would too."

Torasin glanced at Mauja and shivered, it seemed odd to talk about their new land when it's ex-leader stood in front of him. Still, the snowy appaloosa was a formidable creature who commanded a certain amount of respect. The battle had only just ended and things were a little tender still. "You are of course free to wander the land on your own although I would not advise it. Mauja could offer you no better protection in the snows with your own kind if that is the path you choose."

There. At least he'd tried to make it easier for Luna to decide, numbers aside Torasin could never bring himself to force someone against their will. Although he did now wonder which path she would choose to take.

Taken aback by the arrival of a new stallion, the jezebel shook in nerves. Although she was a true socialist, a stallion as on intimidated her. The second took her to an unnatural level of uncomfort. "Hello, um, Mau..." Her voice faded as yet another entered, quite unlike the new appaloosa unicorn, this was a made, in a beautiful brown hue, also spotted. "Um, excuse me. Hello Mauja." Out of instinct, she corrected herself. 'It's the most polite thing you can do...' had been drained into her brain.

"A job that I would search for, Kiara." She commented, smiling. Only another stag entered, with a painted, palomino coating, this one with welcoming hand. Luna smiled at the paint. "Very true." She tossed a quick and very rare- glare at the others. "I apologize for the fact about he Edge..." Luna took a step towards Torasin. "They all seem beautiful..."As she was going, an entrance to the edge would be suited for Luna. "The Throat seems not to suit me, though. I should probably cross into the Edges lands..."
