Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.
He chuckled at her words, “The pleasure was entirely mine, Sol,” his deep voice rumbled around the shortened version of her name. He liked it. It was simple, yet so warm and fulfilling to say.
Managing to make his way from the spattering of glass left on the ground, he offhandedly offerend an explanation, “Most of the glass is cleared, it’s a remnant of a large wall that used to circle our border. It’ll be replaced with glass spikes in due time,” his sweeping strides brought him alongside her as he spoke. His withers towered over hers, though he lowered his head to her level so as not to entirely dwarf the mare.
He started off towards the cliffs, as that was his ritual with welcoming new members. Not only should they see the cliffs in their beauty, but they should know where they were at for personal safety issues. It is not wise to be wandering through the mists without knowing where the sheer drop-off exists.
Flicking and ear and an eye towards the honeyed mare, he studies her. She is quiet, uncertain, though apparently wanting a purpose. “So, Sol, do you have a trade you already know? Like war, crafting, scheming, praying…?” His question is the art of easy conversation, “Or one that you would be interested in?” Though the questions are prying, his tone is not. He is happy to let this mare keep her secrets (as long as they are not dangerous to his herd). He is also happy to guide the mare towards a trade and members that will assist her in fulfilling that role.
The sun starts its decent in the sky as it has already reached it apex. Slowly starting is downward journey of afternoon light, the beginning of its surrender to the Edge’s evening goddess.
