I want to swim away but don't know how
Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean
Let the waves up and take me down
Let the hurricane set in motion

Whisper had finally succumb to sleep after the very emotional night of having Astra. It seemed that her birth had started many new chapters in Whisper's life - including two new very amazing friendships. Sleep had not come willingly but almost forced as her body had all but shut down from the experience. Her mind shut off and fleeting memories haunted her but her brain was too tired, even still to much entertain them. She had opened up about the past and about what had happened, only to learn that both Brisa and Tembovu had similar losses that may have been harder to swallow than her own. At least she had Astra, however hard it was to swallow that her little coal colored twin was gone, keeping up with Astra's antics was proving to push that to the darkest corners of her mind.

Since waking she had hardly spoke. Her anxiety was high and she was on edge. She was twitching as if it were fly season but only a few had landed on her pelt since she had awoke. Maybe it was the new foal syndrome - she wasn't sure. She was a new mother and was looking at everything different now. will this danger Astra? What's in the shadows? What's around the next tree/rock/bend?.  There was a terrible feeling slowing burning inside her gut and she couldn't shake it, but for right now she was trying to focus on Tembovu and what he was doing. He had woken them later in the morning, well past sun rise. She knew he was letting them sleep and part of her was ever thankful for that because she doubted she may sleep that peaceful again with a baby running everywhere.

She watched the giant man make his way in front of her, slowly as so tiny legs could keep up. When he had stopped she looked up at him and around her.  I was this close?! This close to Worlds Edge... she thought to herself, the look running across her face as annoyance and half amusement as he pointed out the glass shards. She looked down and move one with her hoof slowly, watching it flicker beautifully in the sunlight "Who are you keeping out, with your glass shard walls... is there a war settling on the lands?" she asked hushed and almost weakly. Had she brought a foal into the middle of a war? How did mothers raise babies? How the fuck did they keep them safe from everything? She pondered that hard. It was a world filled full of evil. Maybe she would hide behind these boarders and never move again.

It was obvious the stallion had taken time to clean the shards however. Most were large enough they really weren't a problem to navigate around. He had taken into consideration both of them when doing so -picked the easiest path for mother and foal. She watched as Astra bounced along behind and beside them chasing after a butterfly. She stopped moving and just watched. It crossed her mind how terrified she was in the dark cave, her wings tied to her back with a rope just how afraid she was to lose her. After the colt had came out, Astra didn't move for days. She had laid in her womb and no flicker of life, no promise of it was there. Just a heavy rock and after a few days tiny pushes were felt like butterfly wings and then stronger until she rolled inside as if she were rocking herself to sleep.

Whisper inhaled deeply. Rae(Crow) hadn't know about his daughter, he didn't know about the colt either at first. He had kept her bound for his endless pleasure in the cave, feeding her just enough to keep her alive and no more but bitching and moaning about her hips cutting into his barrel when he flung himself over her and forcing entry into her to leave her dripping with his perspiration and seed. She had never felt more disgusting in her life. She cried herself to sleep wishing death, until the first movements had flickered inside her. The feeling of dread had arose in her gut, the wishing it wasn't so until the colt had passed months later. She felt guilty for wishing them gone - for wishing she had never been with foal but she didn't know if the torture would ever end and surely bringing them into a world so dark was selfish and vial. She tried to push the thoughts away but all she wanted to do now was run across the boarder with her little butterfly. Anxiously she choked out Astra's name "Astra!! Come please" as she used her wing to guide her, too hurriedly over the glass shards.

She had heard Tembovu's voice to watch their step but in her state of anxiety it seemed to fade. His voice seemed so far away all of a sudden and all she could do was feel the feeling of running. I cant do this she thought.  What is wrong with me!? She felt like her head was about to spin off it's shoulders and she stumbled onto the glass and then, hit her knees. Watching Astra tumble forward as her wings flew out to balance the falling giants body, but it did not good on land. There was no airflow under them to keep her steady. Astra landed with a small thud, right near Tembovu's flints. She was OK, a small nic but no blood. Whisper didn't want to move from her currently position, or couldn't. She was scared to look up. Afraid her anxiety had caused her daughter pain. But Astra was already up and back to chasing the butterfly and Tembovu's tail, it was Whisper who started to feel the burn. She shifted her weight but felt the glass grind into her knees, the burn of flesh cutting and the pain was so  welcoming  it scared her. Staggering to all fours again she lunged past the stallion who was watching her and she stopped, looking at her bleeding knees, shards sticking out. She had landed on a larger piece and it had shattered under her bulk, driving small slivers of glass into her knees. She watched as the blood ran down her legs and she didn't know which was prettier: the glass shimmering in the sun or the deep red of her blood.

OCC: poor thing.
