WE HELD TOGETHER THE FRAGILE SKY TO KEEP OUR WAY OF LIFE

Throughout their race, she'd kept her wings tucked and her body grounded; small hooves digging into the spring-softened soil, splattering her slender white legs with brown. Fortunately, the girl hardly notices and simply charges on with the stallion at her heels. Her breaths come faster, quicker and her sides ache from the exertion (and from laughing so much only moments before). She presses forward through the pain, through the burning in her slender muscles. Tempted as she was to take flight and soar just above him, partly to show off but also because it is one of her remaining joys. Her family is broken; father had gone to another herd, mother seemed much more pensive and sad than she ever had in the past, and Arty had disappeared. Her first ever visit to the threshold, however, had led to her greatest moment: finding her aunt, her mother's twin. Her second visit had turned over something new in the girl, innocent feelings she couldn't begin to fathom.

Emotions that would likely leave her heartbroken in the not so distant future.

When they arrive outside the broken shards of the glass wall, her chest heaves with softly panted breaths. The girl is far more used to flying longer distances than she is to running them. Naerys can't hold back a smile from curving her soft lips when she hears him speak. "For protection." she replies rather nonchalantly, as though it were an obvious every day occurrence. Rolling her shoulders softly, as though in a brief shrug, she makes her way past the wall before continuing. "Mother told me that some bad things happened before I was born, so the herd crafters built the wall to keep us safe." But as much as it all made sense to her, it also felt... wrong. Naerys, for one, is quite glad that it's gone even though the craftsmanship would have been something to behold.

The girl begins to wonder if anyone of rank would come to greet them but the utter lack of bodies drifting around in the misty trees is an oddly welcome sight. At the back of her mind, she'd been nervous that mother or aunt Iona would see her alone with him. Fortunately, they are apparently busy. Her smile grows when she watches him light up as he steps past her. Would she ever get used to him and how he can look at everything with such child-like awe? Perhaps, though only because things are bound to become common and almost monotonous with time. He calls her little bird again and she bites back a swoon-filled sigh, covering it with a simple but sweet smile. And that chuckle! Oh! She could never get used to hearing it. She flashes him a brilliant smile and teasingly flutters her long, dark lashes. "Oh! Well... you just have to ask nicely" She tries her best to act serious but the humor cracks her resolve and sends a ripple of girly giggles up her throat. "We'll just have to find one of the leaders or one of the higher ranked individuals. Mauja and Torleik are the leads here." and with that said she moves to lead him deeper into the heart of her home.

@Rowtag

Sorry for the wait on this! I was hoping someone else would join in. Many of the leaders/higher ranked are busy right now.
