Things had definitely started to change as the Gods seemed persistent on opening portals to this strange alternate world that no one had ever heard of. While their intentions were good he couldn't help but think that it might be risking more than it was worth. Helovia had been his home for multiple seasons now and it was easy to see the difference between past and present. He had witnessed many events that he had believed to be impossible yet having been there he really couldn't deny it any longer. Mutations, mass infections, a floating island, a murderer, flooding the entirety of Helovia, and now this, something had triggered these events and he was starting to believe that this would be the consistent spiral for many years to come. Each new event seemed to bring with it a whole host of new problems they were expected to solve. Three portals had been opened now and each managed to let in those they wanted to rescue as well as those not invited to the party.

Shaking his head the grey watches as the blood like water sparkled before him as the rush of the water overtook everything else. It had been Kiara who had insisted on coming to this place just so that they could see for themselves what everyone else had described. The ruby red water was sure something that he had never seen before, back home they had just regular water cascading over the falls what made this so different? Before he could mention it out loud Kiara had lept into the waters splashing him before she dove beneath the surface. What was she doing? A minute passed by before his concern started to grow for her safety, was she hurt, or trapped down there? Stepping into the strange tide he frantically scanned what little he could make out as he paced along the shallow edge. Kiara? Kiara! Answer me dammit! With no response the grey had already decided to go looking for her when she broke through the surface batting her paws towards him with a spray of water. He should have known this to be a ploy just to get him into the water but he would never had forgiven himself should it been real. Wading back to the shallows he chose to ignore the stinging pain thanks to the crocodile's damn tail, at least it had stopped bleeding at some point today now that it was day three post battle.

Turning his head to see Kiara holding something in her mouth he immediately hoped that it was not one her so called presents which usually turned out to be something dead. She dropped it on the grass pawing at it for a moment before shaking to clear the water from her coat. The object was thankfully not dead nor alive but it seemed more like a stone of a deep red hue, a ruby but how?
Lots a shiny things down there. She commented motioning to the falls with an outstretched paw. This must be the reason the water appeared the way it did, the rubies reflected the light. Only question was where they had all come from?

'So this is it?' Eytan asked as he stood next to Ktulu, the pair of them looking around the crimson forest. 'Its creepy.' The bear snorted and turned his head to look up at the armored mare. "Its not that bad." She said in turn. "The Deep Forest is probably creepier than this." But Eytan did not agree with Ktulu. 'It looks like it was painted with blood.' Ktulu could somewhat agree with that view, but she didn't think that the red color of the forest made it creepy. "This is where a God died, Eytan." she murmured. The bear frowned then picked up the helmet that she refused to wear and followed behind her.

'A god?' He asked even though he'd participated in one of the fights. She could feel that the bear hadn't wanted to believe that they were fighting real gods. "Yes, a god." She answered, but there was still that touch of disbelief in the bear. "From what I understand they're gods from another land. Not all of the gods look like the ones here. In my homeland the gods were different." The bear just nodded his massive head and continued to lumber on behind Ktulu.

It was pure chance that Ktulu and Eytan happened upon Ciceron and Kiara as they swam in the water. The heat made it very tempting, but Ktulu knew better than to try and swim with armor and the prospect of taking it off, of the pain that made if feel like she was ripping her own skin off made her hold her ground. She waited until the pair were out of the water before she moved toward them. "Ciceron." She said in greeting. Her gaze was drawn down to the big cat as she shook the water from her striped coat. "Were you here when this land was discovered?" The mare asked, disappointed that she'd only been in one battle so far.

Staring down to the blood red stone as Kiara batted it around he couldn't help but wonder why there would be rubies underneath the falls? None of the waterfalls back home had anything of the sort so why here? Did it have something to do with the rift portals? Had they been brought here from this other world along with the strangers? It was clear by the deep scratch marks carved into the earth that a ferocious battle had been fought here tainting this soil with darkness. The malodorous stench of blood still filled the air all around the battlefield but it did not carry the same odor as theirs did. Were these corrupted gods just trying to settle the score for taking their inhabitants or was there something more to the puzzle that they had yet to discover?

Lifting his head to see his fellow warrior Ktulu and her bonded heading their direction he gave a welcoming smile towards the two. Kiara was still lost in the strangeness of the gem but as the bear approached she whipped her head up locking her eyes to the bear. They had likely seen each other in passing but she had never met such a creature before. It was large and looked to be perhaps dangerous but it was fascinating and much more interesting than the ruby. Tilting her head her blue eyes scanned every inch of the bear from the long thick claws to the lethal canines and right down to the stubby little ears and the stumpy tail. The way it wobbled as it walked it almost seemed like it would be a clumsy creature but its size was quite impressive. It would be interesting to see what it would be capable of.

"Ktulu." He greeted politely with a nod of acknowledgement, calm eyes drifting over the rather impressive armor the mare wore with pride. " Sadly no, but from what I have heard and observed so far it was quite the battle. This is our first time here and it just feels.. wrong." He replied. The strange feeling this place carried was hard to describe but nothing about it felt right. Maybe it was the darkness, or the unfamiliarity of the place but whatever it was it was making him feel a little uneasy. "What do you know of this place? Where you present for the fight?" He asked hoping to get more information to perhaps help explain what he was feeling upon entry. It almost seemed like they were not supposed to be here, as if something still lingered here.

"Hm." Came her muttered response as her fellow warrior admitted to not being involved in the first God battle. There was a lot she wanted to know, but so far everyone she had questioned was just as clueless as she was. The only thing that was for certain was that it would keep happening. Already Spark and Moon had come back, both with lands and foreign gods to fight and foreign diseases. It would happen again and it would keep happening until Sun and Earth had returned with their pilfered lands.

"No." She replied when Ciceron asked if she had been present for Spark's fight. "I was unaware. I was there for Moon's battle." And I would attack that bitch all over again. Her expression had turned sour as she spoke the Moon's name and the pressure of Eytan's weight against her foreleg grounded her and kept her from murdering the bitch in her mind once more. She couldn't stand there and fantasize about the torture she wanted to rain down on the silver and purple mare when she should be focusing on her conversation with Ciceron. But what was there left to say?

"Have you come across anything strange in your patrols?" She decided to ask, because talking about work was always the safe route to take. Conversation never seemed to come easily to her when it involved anyone that wasn't Lakota or Archibald, but then they never did much talking. The trio had been friends for so long that they could communicate through looks, tail and ear twitches alone.

It was a slight let down to discover that neither Ktulu or many others who he had encountered seemed to know much about these mysterious lands popping up all over the place. Surely there had to be an answer that the Gods were just not telling them but what? He had speculated the conundrum many times before but it was starting to become a common problem that they all needed to deal with sooner or later. Meetings before the rift's had been opened had never revealed too much information other than those brought through the portal being from a different land that was corrupt. Frustrated with the lack of answers he was beginning to wonder if a trip to the gods would be the only thing that would yield a response. The last time he had journeyed into the veins he had been left empty handed without so much as a word to help him. The gods were busy, he got that but why would they leave so much to chance when it was the entire community that was at risk from much more than itself?

"Most patrols have gone without hindrance but the only thing that seemed to be a recurring problem is the rapid spread of these diseases. Each battle has procured random bouts of illness that seemed to spread like wildfire taking down numerous casualties." He commented with distaste. For the most part he had tried to stay away from those infected but would that be enough to prevent the spread? "The cures still seem to be random without much luck as to determining what actually caused it in the first place." If I had to guess it would be something to do with those corrupted creatures they call Gods."

It was a baffling equation to figure out and one that he unfortunately was not the strongest at doing. Physical activity such as battle were his specialties not the whole discovering cures department. Hell if he got sick he would likely try just about everything to try and see if it might help. The only types of injuries that he had ever needed to combat where those caused by natural causes, these ones where a little out of his league. Kiara had abandoned the ruby at his feet by now to come sit watching Eytan with typical feline intensive curiosity. Lately there had been many new creatures that she could only dream of and here was yet another standing at her paws. "Has anyone else reported any strange occurances around?" he asked jut to keep the conversation going.
