It all seems to happen in slow motion. Vlasi is screaming in his head that Erthë is separated from her by the bodies of those fighting. The tiger's massive paw swipes and his daughter is sent flying across the battlefield. The forest he created disappears as he runs toward his daughter, but just as he reaches her she disappears and he's left standing, staring down at the place where she lay only a few seconds before. "Erthë!" Vadim shouts and he looks, desperate to find her and protect her because he can't lose her too.

When he sees her she is by the Earth God, surrounded by healers. The only one Vadim knows is Badger and that is only because he was present at her birth. He runs, shoving past anyone that stands in his way as he attempts to get to his daughter and when he reaches her he touches his muzzle to her cheek before he lifts his head to look at Badger. "How bad?" He demands and as he does so Vlasi curls up beneath Erthë's neck so the girl can use her as a pillow.

He wants to hit Badger, to shout at him and demand that he do everything in his power to help Erthë even though he knows that the gelding already would. "Help her." He says, anyway. "Do whatever you can. Please...." Then, even though he doesn't want to, he moves aside to let Badger do his job. He places himself in front of them, his ears back and his eyes hard as he stands guard because he won't allow anyone or anything else to hurt his child.
