So curious this Earth God.... Her fire didn't quite reach the tigress, and she rolled her eyes in irritation. Somedays battles went her way, and others it seemed like divine intervention wholly defied logic. Then again, most of the divine, she noticed, defied logic. It was sometimes beautiful and sometimes terrible. Absently, she wondered if the Earth God truly believed that he was their salvation, a redeemer who kept them from enslavement. Were those from the Rift truly enslaved at all? In a a way they were all at the mercy of the Helovian gods, shackled to them for magic and accessories. Wasn't that slavery? Forced dependency? Aithniel narrowed her eyes curiously and hissed a breath as flames licked along her right leg. "Ow! Dammit!" she grunted, jumping away and shaking her head. The fire child jumped into the air then, spreading her wings and thinking about her unhatched egg. It was sitting safe in a secret location, somewhere far far away from this disaster. She wanted to be there when it cracked, unlike herself. She wanted to name it too. Take care of it in ways she was not. This battle needed to end, and quickly. Fire was her only ally, and she kicked her heels together, igniting a spark that plumed into dangerous flames. She aimed at the tigress, a willing pawn in this battle of gods. Her hooves would not set foot beyond her allowed squares - not this time. Her fight against the moon goddess was enough to give her some wisdom to pick and choose her battles. This one was not worth fighting. Aithniel threw the fireball at the tigress, hearing the cries of anguish below. Some foal got hurt, apparently. Perhaps she should have stayed home. Silver eyes, hard as stone and shimmering with apathy fought hard, determined to make it back to her egg - her only family. |
