Hesperos
The reveal of deserts within this domain immediately drew his attention and as though by fate he felt a warm wind caress his face; more a phantom memory than anything, through he still yearned for it to be true. Perhaps he’d find someone along his travels who’d be interested in joining him on his trek to this rumored land that’d soothe some of the homesickness he felt in his heart.
Tembovu took over in decrying Hesperos’ moment of vulnerability; he pulled himself upright, puffing out his chest and attempting to bring some of the regality back in his appearance. Though he’d been a warrior for the whole of his life and had known nothing but challenges he’d still been embraced by the familiarity of his life. The struggles he faced were always the same and although there remained times when he worried about his safety he always knew who he was, at his core. He knew his place in the world. Now, however, he struggled even with that. Tembovu’s vote of confidence, however, helped assuade that moment of doubt.
He listened to Tembovu’s continued explanation of the lands and when he talked about gods Hesperos couldn’t help but allow an incredulous look to play across his face, brows arcing and head turning detachedly to the side. ”Gods, you say?” Other clans held legends in his former lands of dieties that protected them but in all his conquests he’d found no evidence to support their theories. In his clan the only gods were the tangible, bountiful lands that supported them. To each their own, he supposed, even if they were wrong— and then Tembovu claimed they were gifted lands by the gods themselves. ”You’re not suggesting these specters exist, are you? Myth is fine and well but there’s nothing in this world beyond that you can touch.” Caught up in his arrogance he shook his head, chuckling.
