"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Elsa
I've cried, and you'd think I'd be better for it, but the sadness just sleeps, and it stays in my spine the rest of my life.
One day she knew this time would come. The time where she actually had to do something productive. Not to say that recruiting and meetings weren’t productive- but learning about these new lands she failed to realize existed seemed to be the best idea of them all.
The land that lay to the Eastern part of Helovia interested her the most. Halcyon Flats she had heard it called. It was apparently beautiful, but Elsa had to judge for herself. Though it was relatively easy to fit her standards of beauty. Today she was going to be traveling with Nyx- the new General and previous soldier she had never gotten the chance to meet. Now seemed the best time to at least get to talk a bit. Hoping to meet her there, Elsa took off to the Halcyon Flats.
Once she arrived, it was quite obvious why it got its name. Elsa smiled at the vast expanse of glassy salty waters that seemed to reflect on the water. It was like she was flying, but grounded at the same time. Edgar who followed closely behind also found amusement here. He would dive into the water, watching the ripples, and would then proceed to explain that he had the powers to control the sky.
It was empty for now. As far as she could see was simply an expanse of reflected sky. Taking a few leaps forward, she jumped, splashing water all around herself until her tail lay in wet locks against her legs. There was no shame in being childish when not in the presence of others. She’d just have to be careful to avoid doing such things in the presence of Nyx. We wouldn’t want to have her thinking that her queen was weak. The possibility of a spar lurked in her mind- and she made a note to make time for that. It would be good for the both of them to keep up the warrior works.
@Nyx (@Tilney) (@Tembovu) Tagged all those who I thought would like to join/asked to. :3 Feel free not to if you are busy.
She has been intrigued at the notion of meeting her new queen, to say the least. She knows little of the woman, save for that she didn't seem to have been around a great deal before she waltzed back onto the scene and took a crown that - for a few blazing, precious minutes - Nyx had coveted for herself. Now her bratty bad mood has abated somewhat, she doesn't hold it against the white monarch, and thinks that perhaps it was for the best - her new position of General is just the right amount of responsibility, and allows her to do what she does best. Kick ass, and take names.
Knowing they're patrolling together, the ironheart ensures she's prompt in her pursuit of Elsa. Wouldn't want to show herself up on her first meeting with her esteemed queen, would she? She moves through the Flats at a brisk trot, Dominus close at heel. For once he had deigned to join her on one of these herd patrols, although she gets constant rumbles of discontent from him. His paws make a hearty slapping noise on the thin sheen of water beneath their feet, and their strides are equal as they move in motion.
In the absence of trees or any obstacles to block her vision, Nyx soon sees her queen. The winged woman seems to be having a whale of a time, and the steel soldier's brow lifts in amusement - perhaps Elsa didn't consider that, in the vast open expanse of the Flats, her antics could be seen from miles away. She comes closer, drawing to a halt with her white lion by her side, and dips her head to her monarch. "Queen Elsa." She looks the other woman over, noting their equal sizes - a spar between them could certainly prove interesting, and the notion excites the ironheart. "We meet at last." The silver's voice is entirely neutral, and not devoid of respect - she knows her place, after all.

Frostfalls bite was rapidly approaching like a flash flood. It had already begun tearing Orangemoons scarlet leaves off each tree. The weather turned colder each day, the sun shyly hiding above a canopy of ivory clouds. Each morning Tilney wondered if the sun might touch his face, or would he have to wait another day to feel its humbling embrace.
Clay-coloured hooves took the young brute east through the central meadow, the dying vermillion woodland and glades saddening him ever so slightly. The sanguine kiss of orangemoon destructed shelter for the flora and fauna alike and bruised the heart of the summer-born boy; he, like so many others tended to find sadness and melancholy in the coming of wintertide.
But the sadness of winter gave easily to the glee of birdsong. Without a hellish winter the springs charm would be lost. Birdsong was the light at the end of the tunnel, the dawn after night.
Before the frigid weather was totally among them, Tilney had made it his mission to venture to the Halcyon Flats. Rumors of this place had not yet found his ears, so the mystery was mainly what had brought him so far east.
Cloven hooves soon found their way to the damp edge of the flats, the mistifying mirage challenging his bravery. 'It must be so easy to get lost out there' was one of his first thoughts, sheepishly wading deeper into the crystaline water. A short few moments later he caught the sight of two pale figures. He recognised the silver and porcelain mares from his home. Though hey had never met, he was sure he had greeted them with a cheerful hello of somesort on his ways about the Edge. Slowly the bronze man waded to the duo, a chipper smile on his countenance. "Salutations!" He cheered upon arrival near the does. The silver unicorn appeared fierce and stood in such a way that made him feel small. The other was elegant, but perhaps just as fierce - this was Queen Elsa. He had never met her, though he had seen her and certainly knew of her. "My Queen" he bellowed, tipping his lofty crown to the pale fae. "My Lady" He added while his crown was bowed out of respect to the other mare present. "and what brings two western dwellers such as yourselves so far east?".
