L E A N D E R In silence, Leander could only grasp what emotions he thought he saw passing the buckskin's disfigured face. Fortunately, he'd gotten rather good at it, after his time with Faelene. How her face loved to betray her words sometimes. His own face was often statuesque with a mask of polite amity; a trained skill which he learned over years as a rather volatile loner. It was often better to keep your own whims locked up in the presence of strangers, so he'd learned, but in the present case, this idea was completely useless. It looked as the the ebon locked stallion was trying to speak, but a pained look was all he had. Gold orbs trailed down to the boy's lips, finally noticing the sharp end curl of horn jutting from between them. Both concern and intrigue lit up his own aureate facade as he slowly pieced the situation together. It appeared that this buck's horn really had grown through his very head. Did that make it impossible for him to speak? He certainly didn't seem frightened or shy. "Can you speak, sir? Just shake your head if you cannot." That was certainly a question he couldn't remember ever asking anyone before. What would he do if this stranger couldn't talk? Finding out what his business was here would be incredibly difficult. Even though he was clearly unicorn, he did not smell of the ex-Edge, not the damned scent that Faelene so proudly wore. It was unlikely that this stranger was a spy, though not impossible. Taking another step towards the boy with folded wings, Leander went on. If this stallion could at least understand him, they might be able to make some progress. "Do you seek acceptance into the herd?"  |
