"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

The Threshold was normally a place I avoided, and it would continue to be a place that I would avoid for the rest of my life. But today, today I would drag myself blindly into the thick trunks for one reason alone. Ink stained ears flicked easily to and fro on top of my ivory crowned skull, listening carefully for the sound of the red kite's wings smacking the air overhead. How he still managed to fly when it was cold enough for small crystals of ice to form on my eyelashes was beyond me. But here we were, headed back to the North once more, alas, we were still not headed home.
Moon eyes shifted uselessly in the bright sunlight as ink stained limbs moved my lanky frame into the thick trunks. Edison would send direction signals over our mental connection, smooth enough that if a stranger were to be watching us they would think I was just unfortunate enough to have been born with silver eyes rather than a color that would assist in stealthiness like...a simple brown. Little did they know that the moon eyes were about as worthless as the dew claws on a fresh mutt, unless the sun had set and the moon herself had decided to grace us with her soft glow. "Why here." The perpetually cranky bird's voice crept through our bond as I drew deeper into the Threshold, he was just as uncomfortable around all of these trees as I was, for a different reason though. He enjoyed the wide open sky, and I just enjoyed not having to come into contact with strangers.
Just as I was gathering my thoughts in order to reply to the grumpy bird that was now nestled up on my withers, the strong scent of medical herbs smacked me in the face. My ivory topped skull jerked upwards as I moved in the direction of the scent, hopes growing closer and closer to the sky as I hoped that my father would be the one in the clearing. Focused hard on making some kind of new concoction that would lead the Basin in a glorious biological warfare. Ink dipped ears flicked forward excitedly as the kite tried to quell my hopes so they wouldn't be crushed.
I broke through the clearing easily as a gentle coo comes from the normally piss-head of an avian. Using his dark eyes I searched the clearing for the familiar white marked blood bay, only to settle instead on a sky rat who was practicing her minimal healing skills on one of my own kind who smelled of places other than Helovia. Emotions tore through my frame as I realized just why I had came to the Threshold, all in hopes that either my sire or my brother would still be lingering around. Shaking my skull slightly I lowered my crown in greeting before allowing gruff vocals to fill the frozen air. "Sorry for the intrusion. I thought you were someone else." I muttered before preparing myself to turn awkwardly away from the mismatched couple until Edison screeched in my skull to stay and take this brother home instead of letting him go to whatever hell the spotted rat came from. So, I stayed. "Welcome to Helovia, I am Roux formerly of the Basin. On the trip to return there if you are looking for asylum."
"You can hear me" "Edison can hear me" "Edison speaks to me."
