"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Rue What sunshine is to flowers,
smiles are to humanity.
These are but trifles, to be sure;
but scattered along life's pathway,
the good they do is inconceivable.
She had to hurry, run swift as the wind! Rue's long legs churned, her body pushed to it's limits as she sprinted across the meadow, hooves crunching on the brittle grass, the tasteless stuff that had served as her sustenance for what felt like ages. The sun was beginning it's final descent, just the tint of darkness beginning to cover the land, the shadows long and weary after the day.
Rue's flowers shimmered anxious yellow from their places in her growing mane, her eyes darting around the clearing. Now where was it... her shelter... had she passed it?
No! There it was! The young filly about skidded and fell as she wheeled, rocketing towards the crooked tree that had become her home. Yet... there was someone there, in her shelter! Flowers flashed a brilliant scarlet as she skidded to a stop, ears pinning back, her tail lashing at her hindquarters as she braced herself against the invader.
"Who're you, and why are yo-" Her head jerked up and back, eyes widening as she fully took in precisely who stood in the rough lean-to.
"DADDY!" Rue sprang at him, flowers a brilliant gold as she pressed every inch of herself against him, her head against his chest. Her father... he found her. Oh, she was crying now. Finally it was over, she had zero intentions of ever leaving Resplendence's side again, even for a simple drink.
"I didn't mean to leave again, but I went to get a drink then followed a butterfly and then this weird trail and there was a green maze and I just got out and the first night it was scary oh i'm so sorry!"

Oh, bloody hell.
A moment ago, the prince had been standing by a crooked tree, alone, considering the prospect of using it for shelter. It was getting dark, and he didn't have anywhere better to be at the moment, and so he thought to pause his wanderings before he lost the sun entirely. It was Frostfall now, and cold, and a frigid night spent flying back to the Dragon's Throat did not particularly appeal to him. Yes, this tree would do quite nicely - it would block the wind, if he stood a certain way, and if he turned his hips just so --
WHUMP.
It knocked the wind out of him, whatever it was, leaving him breathless and unable to utter the volley of curses that sprang to mind. It also happened to give Zarina time to send him thoughts and emotions, communicating in a split second what it would have taken another equine several minutes to convey. --Rue. Daughter. Yours.-- The words were accompanied by images of his laughing with a young filly, searching for her when she got lost, watching over her while she slept...
And though he didn't remember the girl, he felt a familiar, paternal warmth bud in his breast, and he immediately decided that he would, at least, not ruin her life, too. So if he was a father, and this was his daughter, well... he would give it his best, at the very least.
And what exactly was she doing all the way out here?!
In any case, by the time he regained his breath, laughing and coughing and sputtering to help his lungs catch up with the rest of him, he had gathered his thoughts quite nicely and felt rather prepared to tackle the problem in front of him.
Not, by the way, that she was much of a problem. She wound around him like a cat, rubbing her little body against any part of him that she could reach. He chuckled, something akin to fondness warming his heart (but wait, that can't be right, how can he feel this if he doesn't remember her?), and spread his wings to halt her movement. "Rue," he greeted her, silently thanking his bonded for supplying her name (gods, he was a terrible father).
"Are you all right, princess?" he asked, eying her carefully. She didn't look injured. "It's okay, it's okay... all that matters is that you're safe now." Strangely enough, he meant it. That feeling was there again, the guilt and the worry and the relief that she was okay, and it was giving him a headache, trying to figure it all out.
