[For @Ampere - but open to any siblings as well ]

Tae hadn't forgotten the conversation she had with Ampere.

Despite the fact that she continually got into trouble (found trouble, went looking for it, actively sought it out on all occasions - same thing), she wasn't actively trying to displease her Mother. More so ... she was just trying to find herself. Chaos just seemed to be what she gravitated towards, for better or worse.

Though to be fair, this she hadn't intended. This time she was actually trying to be good.

Feeling a little shaky - which caused her body to become sort of see-through around the edges, with ghostly vapors flitting off - Tae went looking for Ampere.

The problem, and coincidentally the reason she was looking for Ampere, was that the mandible-marked filly was currently being trailed by not one, but two black canines.

Tae swallowed hard. She couldn't quite fly yet (though she had been able to manage a few lengthy glides from one sand-dune to another), and so she had to resort to finding the tallest dune she could and scouring the bloody sands below for her Mother.

"MOTHER-" Tae called loudly, and, trying to help, the wolf and the hellhound happily howled in chorus with her voice. "Shhh!!!" Tae admonished them immediately, spinning on her nimble hindquarters and glaring at the dark pups through pale and narrowed eyes. Both whimpered, their tales between their legs, and laid down on the sands with their heads on their paws.

Tae's wings folded and unfolded against her flanks as her nearly-white gaze looked out, hoping to spy Ampere. Meanwhile, her mind was a mess of excuses, lies, half-truths, and explanations. She really had no idea how she was supposed to tell her Mother what she had done in a way that wouldn't immediately have her disowned from the family. But nor did she want to run the risk of Ampere somehow finding out on her own - and that seemed fairly likely, given how often her Mother patrolled.

No, Tae had to be the one to tell her. But just how that conversation would go, the girl still hadn't a clue.

Are you ready for
The perfect storm

She'd been having an afternoon nap, doing her best to absorb the heat of the day, which paled in comparison to other times of the year (but was still warmer than other lands). As she dozed her lip twitched at times, and the wind caused her feathers to whisper as they brushed across one another. She was fortunate that was rarely plagued by nightmares, as unsettled as she was during the day, Ampere was good at sleeping. Maybe that was a sign she had a clearer conscious than she realized, or maybe she was just so exhausted by the time she let her head down her body literally couldn't fight itself any more. Whatever the reason, Ampere was content.

"MOTHER"

Kygo, dozing nearby in a tree, startled at the sudden sound and awoke wide-eyed and squawking. This in turn roused Ampere, who's head lifted slower, but who's soul beat with the bird's adrenaline. It wasn't the name so much as the shouting that had startled the parrot, but as Ampere woke, she recognized the lack of a threat and muttered, "silly bird," as she prepared to settle back into slumber. However the yell came again, and this time she heard it, and it was the name that hit her more than than the yell. The name, and well, the voice behind it. "Tae?" she asked, groggy but swiftly rising as she sensed something of urgency. Kygo, reaffirmed with Ampere's rising swiftness, screeched in alarm and took to his wings as Ampere set out on foot.

It didn't take her long to find the girl, her daughter not having been far, but one dune hiding her from view until Ampere crested it. She sped up as she sighted her daughter, fearing the worst (Grusha's dead - because she wasn't there too - Tae's injured, Gaucho is injured, the herd is being attacked...). Some saner part of her would have recognized different cues from Tae, but as she wasn't usually shouted for like this by her children, she delved into madness with a certain carefree attitude.

"Tae!" she called out to her filly who was partially ghosting away. Worry knitted her 'brow, knowing Tae only did that when she was upset. "What's wrong!" she exclaimed, breathy as she approached and reached out to search her daughter for blood.

The ghostly girl swallowed hard as Ampere finally came into view. What had been a strong determined stance before suddenly melted away at the sight of the blue. Locked knees became jello, and her gut, filled with confidence and certainty, was now ice cold.

"Unmh-" She stuttered, trying to find a concise way of answering her mother's question, but finding only her tongue ten sizes too large in her mouth. And so, her pack, doing what pack animals are meant to do, trotted forward to try and support their bonded.

Mal, the known wolf-pup stood on Tae's left. His hackles raised, though his teeth weren't barred and his tail stood out straight from his body, rather than upright. However on her right, stood a new addition. Hel, an equally black pup, but with fiery accents , stood nearly as tall as Mal, despite being younger. The Hellhound was stockier than the wolf pup, and appeared more aggresive than his counterpart as well. He didn't advance towards Ampere, but it was clear that his allegiance was to the stuttering the girl.

"IDIDN'TDOITONPURPOSE,MOTHER,ISWEAR." She exhaled all at once, sounding like Zero more than she ever had. The worse gushed out of her as her eyes widened in surprise and alarm at how poorly this was all going. "There was this sea monster, and the eggs were trapped, and I swear I was just trying to get it away from the monster when it hatched and-" Her voice trailed off, waiting for Ampere's screeches to do it for her. Grusha and Asaavi had both been there - had seen the monster and helped her get the eggs to safety. It was going to eat them - but that other monster was going to kill the wolves when she had found Mal, and her mother hadn't seem to care much about that. And despite the fact that she honestly hadn't been looking for trouble this time, she doubted her mother would believe her.

Sheepishly, she looked at both pups, wanting nothing more than to express how happy they made her, how happy they seemed. They were pack animals after all. But instead of being able to say any of that, Tae just stood, her body flickering in and out of a solid state.
