The Earth God smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he did so when Solstice agreed to taking care of the child. She had already raised a fine young colt and would be doing the same with her daughter and now the little orphan that was left to him. His head lowered when the filly came back to him and he breathed a breath of warm air onto her. "He is your brother, young one." He said in his gravelly voice. He was glad for his choice for he had given the young colt something that he had not had before with his biological mother.

As the two young foals settled down the Earth God looked back at Solstice. He stepped toward her, lifting one massive hoof to scrape away the snow that had fallen into the ground. The dead grass below began to grow and turn green again, but it wouldn't last for long. FrostFall had a way of killing all plant life only for him to revive it in the BirdSong when the ground thawed. "Eat your fill, Solstice." He said to the mare. "Caring for two so young will take a toll on your body." He stepped back, smiling once more. "I will be paying you a visit once the child becomes a yearling." He said before a swirl of dust and snow enveloped his massive body. When it all settled the forest was left silent with no trace that the Earth God had been there except for the small colt he had left behind.
