Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Endless Night :: Dead Magic Plot ☼ - 6/22/13 - The gods of Helovia, in order to protect the world, have disappeared into the rift, leaving the world sunless, moonless and magic-less in their absence. Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Be as strong as the seas are stormy,
and proud as an eagle's scream
Well, here we go again. Yep, i'm back bitches. Okay okay Miles, we're back. That's right. No forgetting me sister dear. I turn to where my bonded is perched on my back. "I could never forget about you little brother." Yes, I spoke to him out loud. If I didn't i'd probably go crazy from not speaking. Then again, it also makes me seem a bit crazy to those who don't understand what it's like to be bonded. Which can also be a very useful thing when you are trying to keep all the males away.
I sigh with that train of thought. My father had tried to hitch me up to one of his most amazing warlords or something. More like tried to use me to form an alliance. But I was having nothing of it. Pretty sure i'm on his shit list now. Then again, since he came back with his new Queen I haven't exactly been his most favorite. First off, i'm no son. Second off, I never have wanted to take over the world or anything either. Or spread equine supremacy for that matter. Miles tenses as I think of my dominating Father. Oh how much I had wanted to make him proud. How much I had wanted to be loved by him. I am not sure he is capable of love, unless it benefits him.
All I want to do, is be me. I want to live my life as my own, make my own choices. Not have them made for me because I am a mare. I am not any less because of my gender, not in my own opinion at least. That doesn't matter now. I am back, and I have a job to do. A job I have been trying to complete since the first time I had stepped into Helovia. Find my Uncle. Find him and give him the amulet that hangs around my neck. It belonged to his mother, and was passed down to my mother, who gave it to me at birth. My green eyes glance down at it now, just to make sure it's still there. As if I don't feel it's weight around my neck, however slight it might be. With a glance over my shoulder at my kitsune I whisper softly. "Let's get this job done."
"Talk?" Miles whispers

Edit Reason: grammar
)
Briskly marching, Dacianna made her way southwards from the bloody forests; her mood was far too irritable for a sedate stroll down and her mind too full of silly eggs, and even sillier fish. Her ears were sat fractious to the side of her head and she mumbled incoherently under her breath until finally she reached the border of the merlot forest and her annoyance ebbed down to a simmer. Instead she turned to the stress she had dismissed for a while in the foolery of the egg competition and remembered that she still had two missions to complete and neither were remotely near completion. If she didn’t finish them soon then Dacianna would have the wrath of both the King and the Goddess; great. The Riftian they should never have saved—no she thought suddenly, flicking her tail in annoyance at herself. Her mother did not teach her resilience only to crumple under the pressure when it got too hot. The savant would continue until it was completed, even if the fish here thought she was stupid.
For the first time she looked around at her surroundings, noting the greenness of the leaves and the lack of morbid colours—the Threshold. Dacianna had been here almost as many times as she had been home, and although the scenery was almost always similar to the last time she visited, there was always something new. She roamed a while, taking a crop of grass here and there to satisfy her stomach that was currently only living off a few hazelnuts courtesy of a smart-mouthed salmon, until she came across a gem that often appeared in Helovia’s doorway.
“Hey!” she called to the pretty girl of gold and white, who talked of jobs and finishing them. Something Dacianna could immediately relate to. The mare had a friend too, a fox with a few two many tails to be a normal vulpe, he was cute—they were cute. “Can I help you?” she asked kindly, coming to a halt before the girl and her kitsune, alluding to the job the girl had mentioned earlier.
“I’m Dacianna of the Worlds Edge, who are you?” she asked brightly.

Be as strong as the seas are stormy,
and proud as an eagle's scream
“Hey!” My ears twist back and forth trying to find the place the voice came from without turning my head. Miles mean while drops off my back, ready to defend us with his magic if he must. I have to thank my little brother for being such a good protector. How else would we of made it away from my Father if he had not messed with a few others dreams. As I find the source of the voice I try to hide my frown. A unicorn. Just great. A filthy unicorn had come to my aid. “Can I help you?” I snort. She must of heard me talking to Miles. Ah well. Be nice. She's beautiful and clean. Not dirty. Mentally I grumbled. You know damn well what I mean little brother. You know what Father said about them. This from the same man who only thought you were worthy because of me. But not worthy enough like the boys who had dragons. When he puts it like that.... Maybe Miles is right.
So I decide to clue her in. "Unless you know of a painted stallion by the name of Aaron, i'm afraid not..." My voice trails off slightly. Will I ever be able top find my Uncle Aaron? Or will I end up passing this amulet on to my own child and giving them the same task I had been given? Mother why didn't you stay with your brother? That is the past. Nothing can be done now. Once again, little brother is right. "But I could use a place to stay....
Miles moves around us quietly, making sure that I would have no surprises. Protecting not only us, but this mare that so eagerly wanted to help me. From what, well it could be anything. "I'm Merida, of no where, and this is Miles." About that time he leaps and lands back on my backside. We are safe, for now.

She snorts and Dacianna frowns. Perhaps she had disturbed the girl, her recent interruption into other’s lives hadn’t exactly always been met with welcoming smiles, but then— maybe she was reading into it too much. Even when the golden mare speaks the roan finds herself lacking, she knew naught of a stallion called Aaron, in fact, she hardly knew any painted stallions. It left the Philosopher to glumly shake her head in response and shrug “is that what brings you here?” she asked instead. Was he a lover? A friend? A brother? Her eyes shift from the fox like creature now at her feet and then back to the mare as she appears to think it over and Dacianna finds herself growing more confident. She might not know of an Aaron, but she did know of a place to stay.
“Then I can help you” she smiled before continuing, “the Worlds Edge is very welcoming” it always had been to Dacianna anyway.
Finally, the girl introduces herself and her friend— Merida and Miles, of nowhere it seemed, though Daci was pitching to remedy that. Everyone should have at least a chance to be apart of somewhere and, like Alysanne and Iona had, Dacianna extended a hoof to the girl she barely knew— as others had done for her.
“It is always nicer to be of somewhere” she mused, remembering the direness of the Rift with its annihilated wasteland of naught that brought nothing but death and darkness. Being plucked from that had been a blessing. “I can escort you both to my home, if you wish, Merida and Miles” she offered with an inviting nod of her head.
Be as strong as the seas are stormy,
and proud as an eagle's scream
“is that what brings you here?” I tilted my head slightly. Was that what brought me here? "That is what brings me back here, yes."Will you stop being so damn cryptic? The girl is trying to help you. My little brother is right. No one else has ever tried to help me before. I sigh, debating for a moment before giving our more information than I ever have. I am just thankful for the stories my mother told the old mare who kept me alive. Because my family history lived on, for the old mare to pass down to me. "Aaron is my Uncle. My mother grew up in the Edge when Mirage the DragonHeart was Queen." I look slightly nervous over my shoulder now. But my face shows no sign of my nervousness.
When I look back to Dacianna, i make my choice. I will return to the land that my mother was born in. "Lead me home please, Dacianna."Home? Miles is quick to question. Well it felt right in the moment.. It was after all the home of my mother... In response Miles stretches along my back and them curls up on my rear end, ready for the ride.
I just hope I am doing the right thing, accepting a home here. But I am hoping that by going back to the place my family once all called home, that maybe just maybe i'll figure out where they all went. If I can figure that out, I can pass this amulet to my Uncle. To the one I feel it really belongs to.
"Talk?" Miles whispers
