The invitation was welcomed both for his suggestion against the cold and the opportunity to speak with him. Carefully, she joined him, and was pleased to note that with the addition of another's warmth, she was considerably happier. His orbs lingered on the trinkets woven into her mane, as most did; unfortunately, she could not decipher his thoughts on the matter from his look or his corresponding question. It made things a bit perplexing as to how she should proceed, but on the other hand, he seemed simple enough, and if he should prove so, it would be fairly simple to convince him to join her cause. She might have to stretch the truth a bit, to be sure, but then where was the fun in telling the whole truth all the time? "Oh, these?" she responded innocently, tossing her head and forcing the feathers to swirl into motion along with her dark banner. As they settled, she explained, "It's a horrid story, really." Her lashes lowered over orange orbs, as though she were shy or ashamed. Then they raised once more to meet his gaze. Leaning closer to the stallion, and speaking in hushed tones, she confided, "This isn't the first time the Pegasi and the Equines have forced me from my home. The first time, I got what revenge I could, and I kept a few feathers and teeth. Mostly I thought it would scare them off from attacking us again, but it didn't work." She shook her head as though saddened, turning her maw from him. "That's how I came to be here, you know, in Helovia." [W/C | 270] |
