The dark, towering trees rustle in the strange, cold wind, almost in time with his movements, as the Bone Keeper moves to keep in full focus of each as they speak. His crimson eyes land, first, upon Orithia, the moonlight mare who had offered him blood should she lose. He holds this offer to be serious, even if she has since forgotten it, and so, when her woeful – and incorrect – tale spills forth, the skeletal monstrosity laughs. It is with some surprise that he finds he’s not alone, seeking out the tall, deep bay that had been late to arrive with red eyes that glitter faintly in appreciation before he returns them to the white mare.

That cold wind seems to funnel and focus in against the bone, and the drifting spirit of a cheetah runs straight through the pale pegasus before vanishing all together. The wind, however, keeps billowing.

Who? he asks her with mocking coldness, before turning his gaze to the next to draw his attentions, I will take my prize, now.

The wind plunges through her skin, in what can only be assumed to be a painful experience. When the gusts ease, a glittering vial of her blood shimmers in the air, drifting in unseen fingers back to the corpse creature. It miraculously shimmers, and appears among the teeth and feathers in his antlers.

The silent one, the child with moonlit hair; the Revenant watches the bones dancing on the vine before him eagerly, wondering if being mute makes the infantile horse any wiser.

It doesn’t, his fish-like guardian lacking the same tact as her patron, it would seem. The child’s tantrum and the water woman’s savagery is responded to with a hellish moaning, and foul curses in tongues old, and forgotten. With a howling swiftness, the cold wind is called down upon them, and in the common tongue of Helovia, they are each gifted temporary curses for their impudence. The wind, while it curses, lifts and mends the bones, the decaying creation glaring wickedly at the pair as the bones are tenderly carried by their vines back to the tree.

You'll regret that! he promises.

After taking a moment to calm himself, the being looks to Kid. If there had been a carefree sense about the frightening monster, it is now lost on his anger with the two horses from the Falls. He listens to the child, and allows the spirit to be revealed as he did with Orithia’s, but there are less dramatics to his actions. Perhaps he is distracted with thoughts of punishing those who’d hurt his hand, and his friend, the Wolf.

From Kid’s long bone rises the ethereal figure of a Sphinx, which kisses its ghostly nose along the colt’s cheek before dissipating. He is very close to the truth of the Revenant’s friend, but not near enough to earn the beast’s favor. Kitty’s bone reveals the drifting spirit of a Cat, who lounges across his back momentarily as she drifts into nothingness. He, too, is close, but not quite near enough; while the cat certainly had been hunted down young in life, she had always served the Moon well, and had certainly never sought to pass her by.

Sweet Lyanna tells the story of a God, and while the skeletal creature enjoys the mentions of the Moon, she was closer with her first guess, the great dragon that devours the sun, than she is with her final verdict. With a chuckle, her bones reveal the shimmering spirit of a Dragon, who spews ghostly fire into the air before vanishing.

She admired your tale, admits the creepy root monster, remembering this should they ever meet again.

Syrena guesses fairies, which this particular being loathes. He even makes a noise that says as much, without words, to accompany his turning to the next person to speak swiftly. He has not a single fairy part on his entire tree, but he does see how she could have guessed such a thing. Like the others, the wind draws the spirit of a Hummingbird forth, which flits playfully around her head before vanishing.

Oizys, a dark hearted girl, is next to fall under the glittering eyes of the undead. While she is very wrong, the swirling spirit of a Shark rising upwards, jaws snapping, to the sound of the stag headed creature’s mocking laughter, the Bone Keeper can’t help but delight in her ability to talk her way out of situations she can’t mentally best. It reminds him, in ways, of himself, and makes him wonder if he shouldn’t have had her meet one of his Bears instead.

Astarot is the first to guess correctly of the lot. From his bone, a silver figure of a Stallion gallops out into the shadow of the Wood, trailing stardust.

Last is Tiamat, whose heartfelt description of the eye is also entirely correct. The behemoth spirit of a Whale envelops her, perhaps attempting to pass on some comfort to her (as he did so often in life) before vanishing into the air. Not the sort to generally care for the emotions of mortals, her pleading query lingers on the air for a moment. It seems like the creature will not answer her, until he stares off into the tree line – as if someone is talking to him from somewhere unseen.

To be a shield is to be outside the body, he says, slowly, it can guard nothing from within.

As he speaks, the roots around his hooves part once more, the earth begins to swallow him down. He continues to talk, as if nothing at all peculiar is happening.

He never expected them to drop him with such ease, though. It still makes him quite sad from time to time…

When only the very tips of his antlers remain above the earth, a strange orb of dark light erupts up from the ground, rocketing out towards Oizys with terrifying speed.

Congratulations @OIZYS! You have been granted a new magical power! Please post in Updates to have your records modified and restrictions approved:

TYRATH failed to post in the final round and was not considered for the roll.

@AQUILA & @MILO are both cursed for damaging the Revenant’s things. They will be randomly stricken with crippling headaches for the next week of real time.

@ASTAROT & @TIAMAT have increased vision in darkness for the next week of real time, for guessing what (who?) their bone was correctly. Absolute darkness becomes deep darkness, deep darkness becomes like any other night, and regular darkness is negligible.
