With fire to keep us warm, and tools we made from rocks and bones

Gaucho felt his teeth sink against her sweaty hide and tried to allow himself a moment to savour it. How many times had he sunk similar bites against Ampere, tasting the salty liquid of her body? But Nyx was not Ampere. Instead, Nyx tasted of cold places and misty mountains. No matter how closely the muscles beneath her coat matched Ampere’s, the taste was not the same. Not unpleasant, just not the same. But of course, Gaucho knew that it wouldn’t. His mind could only force the illusion to last for so long – it couldn’t change the things that his tongue experienced.

Still, the sensation was pleasant, as was feeling of her body bombarded by his own.

The dun only considered her question for a moment before a smirk parted his dark lips. “You the one who bring up breakfast.” He taunted, his face a primal mask of sweat and flashing white teeth. "Dragon’s Throat not have a buffet. Sometimes have to take a snack where it offered.” Another smile.

Given her injuries, Gaucho expects the silver to either use magic or her horn. It is what he would do given her tactical position, and from what he knows of Nyx and what he has witnessed of her during this spar, she is not a new player to this arena. She knows what she is doing. So, the dun tries to parry his body away from hers, swinging his hips wide in an arc, but in a way that might bring him to directly face her. He wants to merely move out of the way of her attack, but not move away from her. Likely it is this masculine need that is his downfall.

For the first time the thoughts of Ampere that flood his min are naturally caused. The only time he has felt electricity like this – literal electricity – was in spars with her. Rivers of blue fire seemed to fill his veins. He took a step, expecting his skin or bones to hurt as if he was on fire, but they didn’t, and that seemed to make it all the worse. The pain was inside, only this was not the metaphorical pain of his heart or soul, burned by Ampere and Sohalia. This was real fire coursing through in blue electrical snaps of energy and force.

Gaucho stumbled, but only because his mind seemed too stumped by how to respond to what he was feeling to monitor the motion of his hooves. He swayed sideways – into Nyx’s horn – and for a moment was relieved by it. At least the shooting, blaring, screaming pain was something he could understand. It was then that his vision began to blur, as if he was simultaneously starved for oxygen, and also overwhelmed by it. Black stars swam in front of his eyes, and when he blinked to clear his vision, he expected to see the dazzling blue of Ampere’s gaze looking back at him. What he saw was the grass rising to meet him at an alarming speed. His hooves flailed before him without any gracefulness whatsoever, but managed to keep him steady. The dun was also breathing at an alarming rate, likely because the change in oxygen in his blood was causing his heart and lungs to do crazy things, and he grit his teeth together to try and force his senses to come back under his control.

His body felt the way a lightning storm looked – black and gray and blue with dazzling shots of light and horrendous thunder to follow.

But despite the epic levels of pain and discomfort, Gaucho is smiling. His blue-gray gaze rises, searching for Nyx’s. “Again.” He grunts sounding like some sort of masochistic junky. His lips feel numb and the word comes out more slurred than normal. He moves towards her, jerkily at first while the pins and needles work themselves out of his bones, and then faster. His eyes are hungry and needy. He could feel Ampere in that attack, and he needed it again.

Despite the pain, Gaucho tried to slam himself into Nyx’s body once more as a sensual neediness began to swell within his system with renewed vigour. He wanted to feel her close, but to also mark her as she had marked him, though he would use the same blood to do it. He aimed to brush his wounded rib cage against her own, smearing the dark maroon liquid there over her much lighter coat.
