So far away from where you are, I'm standing underneath the stars
and I wish you were here
Others gathered with them, lending their help. First was a pegasus that Alysanne did not recognize - but his easy grin and words brought a smile to her face without difficulty. “I’m Alysanne, one of the Moon Doctors. It’s a pleasure to meet you Graasvoel.” A light laugh escaped her at the comment about how his size would be useful - it was true, after all! She was just moving to join him in his endeavours when, of course, their king joined them. Was he everywhere? Despite the fact that her wings bristled in an unconscious reaction to her present but she nodded a quick greeting all the same.

An easier greeting came from her at the arrival of the newest Moon Doctor - she was glad to see that he had returned! “Good morning, Tilney.” She watched, forgetting to strike out at the frozen branches, in concern as he used the fire from his lantern to set flame to some of the branches. Dread quickly replaced any resemblance of a smile. “Be careful!” She warned, worried that the fire would spread beyond the intended thicket.

But they quickly had something else entirely to worry about.

Alysanne startled at the sound from the thicket, her attention quickly drawn from those gathered and towards the depths and winced as the pitch of the sound continued to rise, ducking her head as though that would somehow lessen the painful screech in her ears. The ground began to shift beneath them and then a voice accompanied by a pulse of pink light - warning them to run. That something was waking.

Despite the warnings, Alysanne knew she wouldn’t run. It wasn’t even an option for her, really - didn’t cross her mind despite the raging of fear through her heart. But it wasn’t fear for herself - it was fear for those she was with, friend and acquaintance and Tembovu alike - and for the herd around them that didn’t have the warning to run.

She shifted her stance a little bit (every muscle and line in her body speaking of the stubborn will that would not be uprooted) before her gaze shifted to Tembovu. Of all those gathered, she hoped he had the same reaction as her - hoped beyond hope that her fears about him were wrong. “Whatever it is, we can’t let it harm the herd.” Her voice was quiet and level - words meant for all those gathered here but her green eyes were focused on the king. Surely on this one thing they could agree.
