Well that was that. The gold listened with the same apathy. His annoyance was limited to some half back ears as Banjo continued to talk in terms of we. It wasn’t that the gold was always against such strange creatures (some were very fun indeed) but this one was so completely opposite of him it was nearly comical to the gold himself. Haldir for his part nodded vigorously in agreement, still firm in his like of the strange tailed creature.

The stag makes his choice, and the gold nodes, shrugging it off as something he didn’t mind happening. In fact he wasn’t really surprised, if the creature was to choose a herd, then the cold wintery basin would suit the animal well. Especially given the long snows, he would literally blend in. Only Haldir’s face falls slightly. He knew the chances of them going up to the mountains to visit this new friend were very slim indeed. So when the gold calls him again, he answers. Nodding to the white stag in some form of goodbye and turning back to the gold.

The gold gives no greeting to either the stag or Banjo (though Haldir also dips his head to the horsearoo), yet when he turns to Elspeth, he pauses. A smile, the first of the morning forms like a ghost on his face as one corner of his lips grow in a smirk. He had been annoyed at her perhaps, but her sass, as always, teased the gold into playing. So he pauses by her, looks to the white stag joining her, then back, addressing them both. “My regards to the Reaper.” He was an evil bastard leaving the outspoken woman to explain that one, but such was her payback. Tasseled tail flicking, and Haldir looking back still cheerful (though his mind still pondering worryingly over the gold's lack of mention of the Basin, and yet this tease), they slipped back into the misty morning.
