V O L T E R R A
ARE WE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO SAVE US FROM BURNING TO DUST?
SHOULD YOU BUILD ALL YOU HAVE OUT OF NOTHING BUT ANGER AND LUST?

His head turns at his name, and he sets eyes upon his newest son for the first time. At last - he has been hunting the boy down, but was unable to find him until now. "Hello, son. It is good to finally meet you properly. I was at your birth - or at least my dragons were, on my behalf - and I have been trying to locate you ever since." He looks the lad up and down; equine, with the token white face that marks him as being of Volterra's blood, but his coat is an odd shade that the black behemoth has never seen before. The colt looks sturdy, strong and healthy, and Volterra's approval is given with a short, sharp nod of his head.

It appears Tyrath and this new son have already met and bonded with each other, as well. This is excellent news. He wants all of his children to bond, as they are stronger when they are together. It will strengthen the stallion's empire as well, to have his boys forge strong alliances with each other. He hopes to see them all rule herds one day - a true legacy. Tyrath gives the new son's name as Astarot, which also gathers the giant's approval. Astarot asks where his dragons are, and he flashes the colt a grin - ah, it's good to see his enthusiasm for their draconic kin! "They are hunting, but will be along shortly." He mentally beckons the red and gold, who notify him that they aren't abandoning their hunt just yet - he receives a flash of the pair of them working together to pursue a large stag, and pride swells in his chest. They, too, are stronger when they are together.

The joyful meeting of father and sons is broken when the Sun God himself arrives; Volterra's colossal head turns to fix his interested stare on the winged deity. He has not seen him up close before, save for when he helped ensure their victory in one of the Rift God fights. "Sun God," comes his rumbling greeting, voice imbued with respect. After all, he has this God's magic in his veins, too; it lends his golems their fire.

Tyrath begins to speak, and he speaks well for one of his age. Volterra listens, content to remain quiet and allow the boy to forge his own path towards whatever it is he desires, but his head turns so sharply that he jars his neck when Tyrath mentions meeting a giantess of the earth. He's met Isopia? This is not good. Volterra is unlikely to win her affections back if she meets yet more of his children, and he's sure she will come to the conclusion that he clearly doesn't care about her at all if he's content to continue fathering more offspring. Shit. He will have to ask his son how the meeting went, as soon as they're done here.

But there's more. My Ma is your daughter, right? She's really the Sun Demi-Goddess? The leviathan almost chokes, and his eyes widen to saucepan size. "Wait, what?!" Ohgodohgodohgod. Aithniel is the Sun God's daughter? Well, shit. It's a wonder the God hasn't already turned Volterra into a walking fireball. If Aithniel gained her ferocity and flaming passion from her father, then what is this great man capable of? "Aithniel is your daughter? She is a demi-god?" He looks to Tyrath, as suddenly things begin clicking into place. How he can have the blood of all three species in his veins. How he can have magic so powerful even at his tender age. How he has chosen the Sun God as his patron, when Volterra would naturally have encouraged him to head towards Father Earth.

Oh shit, Father Earth. What on earth (no pun intended) will he think when he learns Volterra has bedded two demi-goddesses? And, more importantly - his chest lurches, his heart pounds, his bile rises - what will Isopia think? Surely Tyrath will have pointed out that Aithniel is his mother, and Isopia's a clever girl, she'll have put two and two together when she saw Tyrath's skull marking. Fuck!

She's going to hate him even more than she already does. He is sure she will see it as a personal affront - he has bedded the equivalent of her sister (he thinks - the God's genetic ties to each other are a mystery to the goliath, but he assumes they're somehow related) and fathered a child with her. If the little raven was offended by Volterra fathering any other children, then what the hell will she think about Tyrath?

He hardly hears the rest of what his son says; he simply stands there, numb, unable to believe his ears, unable to believe anything.
