Aelin

Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?

Only an hour into the morning and the Aelin had already risen. The sky was coloured with oranges and reds and pinks. The glorious coloured glittered across the sky, reflected in her pools of green and blue. No matter how many years she lived, she'd never grow tired of waking up in The Throat and seeing the morning skies awaken. Her home was unlike another land in the world. It would forever hold her heart, no matter where in the world she may be. The wind was unusually light today, although it was still dry. As a breeze rolled down her spine she closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth. It heart her skin and worked it's way down into her blood. Closing her eyes she allowed the breeze to ruffle her wings, smiling as her individual fathers rifled. It was almost like being in the open skies, yet none of the freedom or that feeling of weightlessness. There was nothing quite like flying, no pegasus should ever be grounded. The need to fly was unlike any other urge within this body. That was the greatest gift she'd been born with, not magic or her dreamlands. It was the ability to fly, only pegasus and other winged creatures shared this joy. Stretching her wings, she allowed the winds to kiss each of her feathers. The small dreamcatcher braided into her mane fluttered and tapped against her exposed neck. It was a perfect day to fly and she would like to perhaps take a turn. However she'd just returned from a trip where she'd traveled to the Veins of The Gods.

Opening her eyes she turned her gaze to her home, the oasis was nor too far ahead. Setting off towards the large pool of water she wondered who she may find there. Often she'd stumbled upon a stranger or friend enjoying the waters. The sand scuffed against her hooves, stirring around her and sparkling with the effects of her magic. She smiles, having an effect of the world was certainly an extraordinary ability. She was grateful to fate and the gods that she's been granted such a gift, and additionally her dream walking magic. However she lacked the fire of her father and that had to change. She wanted him to be proud of her. She was not a son and so she was not as psychically strong as her brothers or father, however, she did have her father's inner strength. She'd survived and seen many things in her short life and always come out stronger in the end. Surely she would not only survive but complete this quest that the God of Time had bestowed upon her. She would have some of her father's flames in the end, then she would truly be seen as his daughter.

Arriving at the waterhole she dips her neck elegantly and drinks deeply. While her thoughts are directed inward, she has no attention on the events happening around her.

Dream as if you'll live forever,
Live as if you'll die today.
