Altair noticed him first. The cerndyr's attention wasn't as captivated by the mirror as his bonded was (it was hers, after all). He flicked an ear back, softly grunting as a gangly, golden boy stepped into the cave, followed soon by a girl engulfed in flames. His eyes widened, brow furrowed, noting that the child acted normally, as if fire didn't burn.

The star swathed maiden took note of the visitors only after they spoke. She turned her head in surprise, brow raised and emeralds wide. Were these the children who lingered by Rexanna at the last herd meeting? She guessed it to be so, as Frost couldn't name any other in the herd with such vibrant, golden tones to pass onto their offspring.

Oh, but who could be the father? No one she knew in the herd was as fiery as these twins. The girl was the one on fire, but it was the boy whose words burned, so bold and brash compared to his sister's polite, excited lyrics. Frost smiled at the duo, stifling a laugh at the girl's attempts to say Haruspex. It worked for her.

"Hello," She offered as a greeting, dipping her diadem to the children. They weren't enamored by her, though. It seemed the children's thoughts were only on the mirror and what she could tell them of it. Oh, but the maiden was more than happy to oblige. It was her duty to do so.

Frost stepped aside, her companion lingering close, revealing the extent of its swirling, glassy surface, and beckoned the children closer with a wave of her leonine tail. "This is the Mirror of the Haruspex. It may be a mirror, but you'll never see your reflection in it. It shows me, and only me, what has been, what will be, and what the God of the Spark has to say about it," She spoke wondrously, hoping her words mystified the children as much the mirror did.
