What a meeting.
Tilney loved to see the herd gathered, but they always left him quite overwhelmed. Elsa had abducated! how strange it would be to not call her Queen. It would be even stranger to call his friend Alysanne Queen. And Lyanna! She was now a moon doctor.
Queen Alysanne; long maybe she reign. He hoped her time as a leader was fruitful; he would always wish that woman well. The metting was drawing to a close, Tembovus mighty words sending each equid and their companion on their way.

With a glance to each side, his green gaze passing from his double-winged apprentice and then his antlered mate - He couldn't part from Arah without whispering his loving farewells. "I'll see you this evening my Dove" was his angelic coo to the white fae, Then wish a blushing flick of his tail he looked to Ultimas painted countenance. "Make haste Ultima! We must congratulate Alysanne and Lyanna! and then attend the healers meeting"
If Alysanne was now queen, who was to hold the meeting? Surely she had many other matters that were now hers to address; the greenhouse and the gardens might be quite low on her priority list. He had no idea where this Evangeline fellow was - he had not yet the second moon doctor of the worlds edge, and the last had been appointed only moments ago. Was it up to him to call the meeting? As un-sure as he was, perhaps there was no harm in taking initiative. The congratulations would have to wait.

"ah, heEALers!" the bronze lad called gruffly, blushing as his weak voice cracked. Clearly his larynx was still on the mend from its ordeal at sea. "sorry" he begged under his breath, his green eyes flicking towards his apprentice who had stood with him during the meeting. How he wished he had the booming voice of their king.
 "Healers!"
"Nurses! Apothecaries! Moon Doctors!"

So many new faces.

"If you'd all be so kind to-ah, find your way to the gardens for a meeting" He continued to awkwardly clear his throat between sentences, or even every few words as he spoke. Speaking in front of crowds was not something that frightened him, but speaking in front of colleagues was in a slightly different league. "Follow me if you don't know the way!"
Hopefully Evangeline and Lyanna will show up...
Those marble cloven hooves took to the minty words edge grass, trotting swiftly past ferns and firs. How he loved some exercise. The time it took to arrive at the greenhouse and gardens was quite minimal; only a few minutes of trotting and the odd canter and hop here and there. Tilney took his place by the glass greenhouse and glanced around, waiting for the nurses and other moon doctors to gather.

Evangeline knew very well where the garden was, she'd spent a good bit of ttime tending to it during the night. She probably would still be slipping back into the Edge at night to plant another herb that she'd found before leaving again if it weren't for Alysanne. The only reason she had decided to stay was because her friend had asked her if she would. Now, after how the meeting had devolved into shouting matches and insults she was wondering if she'd made the right choice or if she should have continued her herb gathering and garden tending.

She honestly wanted nothing more than to be on her way after the herd meeting, but then someone was calling for a meeting with all of the healers. The copper mare sighed and listened as he called for Nurses! Apothecaries! Moon Doctors!. She hadn't met the other Moon Doctor and didn't know who the newly appointed one was, so she really couldn't miss a meeting. She doubted any of them even knew who she was even though she'd been in the Edge for a countless number of seasons.

Tallis was already flying toward the garden and Evangeline trailed behind him. The dragon reached their destination first and perched in one of the tree branches, looking down at the antlered stallion that had called the meeting. He trilled a quiet greeting then waited for Evangeline to arrive. When he did he dropped down from his perch in the tree and settled on the orange mare's back.

"Hello." Evangeline gretted the stallion. "I'm Evangeline. You .... you must be Tilney." She guessed.

To say she was anything other than absolutely baffled by the proceedings would have been the cheapskate’s way out. One Queen down, another risen. The Edge’s great general setting a fire and then slipping away, awkwardly, leaving someone else the task of stomping it out. Or rather, the task of stoking it higher – from her spot beneath the trees, next to the young soldier who’d stopped to check up on her, Ultima felt her senses stirred by the smoke, acrid as smelling salts. So much in-fighting; if her brain hadn’t been addled by heat, she might have had the sense to be terrified. But all she could do was watch, her breaths shallow, listening to the raised voices. Overhead the awning cast everything in a strange purple light, the hot sun blazing strong as ever. It felt biblical. It felt foreboding, and little by little her ears crept closer to her poll.

Until Tilney came for her, and she was saved. To an extent.

After managing another bow to Tembovu and Alysanne (and the world did spin a little harder as she pulled up from her knees), and scrapping together the key pieces of Tilney’s harried orders (“Did your—did your voice just crack? Oh Tilney,), she plodded after him as quickly as she dared, wings half-cocked like sails in case her gangly limbs failed her. It wouldn’t have been the first time. The garden was cool, though, and shady; spying a little pool not too far off from where Tilney had made his stand, the girl slipped towards it and took a long, sweet draught. The effect was far from instantaneous. She still felt as if her legs were imaginings, her footing a dream-thing she’d thought of in the haze of Tallsun heat. Sipping again, though, and again, her body at least seemed the tiniest bit cooler. Managing a last mouthful, she trotted back to Tilney’s side just as the other Moon Doctor – Evangeline, she heard her say – arrived.

“Quite right,” Ultima chirped, though her voice fell a bit flat itself. Pulling a smart, wry face at Tilney, she turned back swiftly to the mare and bobbed a neat curtsy. “Hallo Miss! I’m his apprentice. Ultima,” she added, smiling. “How do you do?” And then, almost tentatively: “I say – pardon me, I really don’t mean to be a gossip, but … you’re the Doctor in charge of that girl, aren’t you? Oizys, wasn’t it?”
command me to be well.

i am a leaf on the wind

It was certainly a meeting, and she’s ready as anything to be out of there. She’d love to sideline Alysanne and offer her congratulations, but she knows that her friend will have a million other things to do now. It makes her briefly sad, figuring there will be far less time for the two of them to spend together in the gardens now. But mostly, she is excited for her friend and mentor. There is, to Lyanna, no one more deserving of the title. Lyanna, of course, is really biased and also barely knows a quarter of the herd. So.

She’s also trying not to think too hard on the fact she was just promoted. It’s exciting, certainly, but suddenly there was a lot of responsibility, of which she still knew so little about. She’d only recently been promoted to apothecary, and only recently really learned about how to care for the gardens here, where everything was stored for collecting. And now, suddenly, the wellbeing of the herd sat on her shoulders. Not hers alone, thank the Gods, but still, it felt like a lot.

And it didn’t help that Orithia was bleeding in the meeting and the pale mare looked uncomfortable, but Lyanna only could guess as to why for the second one. It might be nothing. And in truth, she’s about to set off after one of the two when she hears Tilney, his voice cracking briefly, and then a clearer call for the healers of the Edge. Ah, yea, a meeting. That’s probably a good idea. And not one she’d really thought of herself, but then again, what business did she possibly have calling a meeting?

She is, however, more than happy to answer Tilney’s call. He directs them to the gardens, and she makes her way over, falling into step with whoever else is nearby as they go. She finds Tilney and Evangeline already there, and arrives just in time to catch the third Moon Doctor’s name. Which is good, because she wouldn’t have recognized the mare, and would probably feel like a fool for not knowing (not, that she has any reason to know, except it feels like she should).

There’s another (and rather beautiful, Lyanna notes) white Pegasus there as well, introducing herself as Ultima. Lyanna actually feels quite drab compared to the horses already gathered here, but she doesn’t find this to be a bad thing. No, she came here to disappear into the crowd, to a place where the teal on her wings wouldn’t stand out. And here, she certainly does not stand out. Here, she is terribly boring, in fact. “Lyanna,” she offers, with a nod of her head. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” she says, looking at Ultima and then Evangeline. And then she adds, “Tilney, how are you?” Her tone is friendly and casual, though her eyes give him a curious look, hoping he is in fact alright. But her question is innocent, and allows a simple response, if he doesn’t feel like diving into details.

watch how i soar.

In my scarecrow dreams,
(When they smash my heart into smithereens)
Be a bright red rose come bursting the concrete.

"Tree horse—uh—Til…"

"NEY!"

Ríona loudly finished Inari's sentence, dusting the cobwebs from Sacre’s head that apparently needed clearing before both foxes repeated the word meeting until the stained lad relented. He had only just escaped the last one, now he had to go to another? His dark lids fell with a sigh as he squeezed them shut for a moment, reminding himself of the duty he had, before begrudgingly setting off to find the antlered Moon Doctor who would then lead them to the gardens. Gardens? When Sacre found Tilney he was quite glad he was being led there, the newly appointed Nurse had no idea they had them never mind where they were. What kind of Nurse didn’t even know where the equipment was? Admittedly, and despite being the son of a Doctor turned Mender, Sacre knew very little about healing other than that which d’Artagnan had deigned to share—which wasn’t much. Even his mother had been a Nurse just like he was now. Perhaps it ran in the blood… Or so he hoped. If he couldn’t succeed here the fox boy didn’t know what he’d be good at. He was certainly no spy, crafting had been okay but still he didn’t get much enjoyment from it, he could fight if he had to but was no warrior and the Gods were, well, Gods. What would he say to them? From what his father had told him, which wasn’t always the best advice, he was best leaving the Gods alone.

All of this, left him here.

He looked around the meeting, most of the faces gathered he didn’t really know, the girl who was promoted at the meeting was there, Lyanna was it? The other two introduced themselves and Sacre smiled his bright youthful smile to each when there was a gap in conversation. “Sacre” he added his own name to the pool already given—it was time to start again.

Inari and Ríona peeped from behind the fox boy’s two forelegs, eyeing the dragon that perched on the back of the chestnut mare, their beady eyes watching it cautiously and with fascination.

Still the flaxen boy wondered why he was doing this - he was quite certain they would think him silly. Admittedly it did make him feel much more at ease with his friends pennons hanging over his back the lady Ultima was someone he had grown to care for immensely, and it seemed she felt the same of him; it was quite reassuring to know you had a true friend. The flaxen boy had no troubles speaking to groups, but for some silly reason the brute was anticipating a crowd of hundreds and that he might have to have a speech prepared. It was only when he remembered that the healing ranks were much fewer then the populace of the edge, and he was not required to voice anything so perfectly such as their King did. It was just a healers meeting - they were friends, even. Friends he had not met before...

The first to arrive was one he had heard much about, and to say he was overjoyed he oculd put a face to the name of the Pure was an understatement. "Oh! Lady Evangeline!" The bronze lad cooed, his front feet flipping with excitement of finally meeting  the third Moon Doctor. His darling apprentice confirmed his name, so the boy merely nodded towards the Pure.
"Welcome to th-" She probably already knew where she was, she had been a Moon Doctor much longer then he had. "Pardon me, I have no doubt you know full well where you are!"
Were his fur transparent you would be ale to see his blush miles away.
Tilney also found it incredibly amusing how similar they were in colour, but he daren't embarrass himself any further by commenting on a strangers appearance. He'd already ruined his introduction it seemed.

Thank the gods for Ultima; the peafowl maiden had swooped right in with a well schooled introduction of her own. Tilney found it hard not to be envious of the girl at times, this was one of them.

And finally, another familiar face. It was dear Lyanna, newly promoted!
"Lyanna my dear!" Tilney called to the ashen pegasi from across the gardens. In a few skips of his feet he was at her side "Congratulations! We are so proud" The bronze boy chirped, a genuine look of pride crossing his green gaze as he walked beside the teal-tipped girl. He accepts her question easily after her introduction to the new face that is Evangeline and just nods politely in response "I am very well thank you! And you Doctor?"
The lad couldn't help but use her new title, sniggering softly. He wouldn't mention that this meeting was frightening him a little, but aside form that he was over the moon. Arah had filled his head with dreams and nothing much else.

A dark countenance dwindled on the edge of the group - Tilney had hardly noticed his approach. It was the man present when Peatree hatched. Sacred? Zacke?
Sacre. It was Sacre. The haunting red splatters was a marking Tilney would not ever forget - both haunting and enchanting. "Sacre! Welcome!" Tilneys chirp sounded again. He saw no others on the approach, so decided perhaps they would start without them. Any late comers could catch up.

"Well... congratulations again to our lovely Lyanna for her promotion!"
"But first shall we lets discuss jobs? we have much to do!
I will take Ultima and the nurse Tandavi to collect Ostrich fern for the expectant mothers. Lyanna would you like to take Sacre and Katerina to get some cedar for the warriors? Evangeline... who would you like to take, or are your hands full?" He only asked this seeing as he did not see the mare much, if ever. He knew she had an apprentice so perhaps that was what kept her. He still had one or two things more to say, but he would leave it until after the other doctors had shared their thoughts and given out any tasks they needed handling.
