Listen to them,
The first touch by her father was a caring, loving caress as she passed by him. Her hide twitched with the gentleness such a giant creature could bestow her. And suddenly, she was filled with excitement and pride. There would be so much more to learn and explore from their father. “I want to learn it. Please teach us!” She trilled as she pranced out of the cave. Once they had reached the gentle earth outside of their home, Kiada beamed to her father and mother, sending a gentle grin Kianzo’s way. As he answered the question Tembovu poised, she nodded. The vulture began to hover above her, as if he were being a watchful eye among the shadowed cracks and crevices. A protector of all time, keeping his attention glued to all the things unseen and unknown. Kiada’s flames began to shift to deer in her curiosity as she looked upon Tembovu’s face. Then, suddenly, a serious question was being conversed between her parents. Uncertainly, she looked to Kianzo who had sidled up beside her. She pressed into him gently, reaching for his cheek with her pink splotched lips. “Be excited, Zo. We can learn a whole new language, a whole new way of life.” She began, a hushed whisper only meant for her other half. “Let us grow close to our father. Let him teach us the ways of his home. We might be able to find something that benefits us.” Her voice was hushed then before she lipped at his ear playfully until Rexanna finished speaking.

Kiada’s tail began to flick to and fro, a little black tuft as she looked at her father with an innocent gaze. “We don’t know what to name them. Can you help us?” She asked quietly, batting her white lashes against oceanic eyes. “Maybe something in your language so we can practice!” She added in, turning to Zo briefly. “it’s like a secret language!” She beamed, pretending her entire conversation with her brother hadn’t happened in the view of her father. Oh, how exciting. Maybe she’d learn the words she could say when she finally got magic like Zo’s. When she was finally able to be useful instead of a lantern of flame sitting on the sidelines watching it all happen. Maybe the language would be the last thing her prey heard.

@Tembovu

IT'S SAID SHE'S MADE OF STORM CELLS
AND A WILD WOLF'S HUNGRY HEART,
THAT SHE'S LEARNT THE LIGHTNING'S SECRET
TO RIPPING DARKENED SKIES APART.
