The last day of TallSun stretched over head, promising the rains of Orangemoon soon to follow. But for the small pale filly, this meant nothing, for she had known nothing but the warm and seemingly endless sun that she had been born under not so long ago.

The sea breeze tugged at the lilac-gray twists of Kolr's tangled mane and tail. Though her locks were fairly silken and had a hard time getting themselves knotted, today they were particularly tangled. Or at least, as tangled as they could possibly get. But the small filly didn't mind. Today she had eyes only for the sea, and her baby blues were focused inflexibly on the ocean tides. It wasn't because she loved the ocean that she watched it so intently (well, she did love it, it just wasn't the only reason she was looking at it). Instead, she wanted to know how to paint it.

Ever since the discovery of her magic on the day that she was born, Kolr had been painting everything that she saw. Her visual library was growing as was her command of colour and shape, but there were still some things that eluded her. Waves for example. When did a wave begin to look more green, rather than blue? Was it only when it began to curl into a swell on the ocean's surface? And if so, when did that green become the white froth of a white cap? For some reason, the vastness of the ocean always eluded her, and her pictures ended up looking 2 dimensional and flat.

And so she stared, sharp gaze watching the ocean as it danced out before her, hiding its secrets.
