Lena & Imogen

Innocence stemmed and rooted its way through the sand, and Lena’s grin softened into a delightful ambivalence, a quiet, dulcet ring of fortitude and distinction, eyes wandering briefly from the dune heavens and back upon the angel’s features. She’d altered a little in their presence, perhaps gentle because they were gentle, strong because they were strong, diligent and mighty because all of them combined, together, could’ve been more than all the hate and malice worn along the edges for so many years. Change had occurred, and for the better; rancor not so fine, bitterness not so cluttered between the webs and minds of Helovian inhabitants – and it made her wonder if the world could always be this way, without the abhorrence, without the greed. Her gaze went to Rexanna’s, a charitable wink glistening from their honeyed aspirations, and then the glistening smile landed back upon Sohalia as she proffered her services and charity. “Oh, just yourselves!” Imogen and the Songbird were subsequently distracted by a brief melee of chirps and cries, and they both peered overhead to watch a beautiful beast fly through the sky (not a dragon, despite all the rumors, but a creature of electricity and lightning, like he belonged to the God of Spark and Time, but had drifted into the desert instead, insurgent and powerful). Mesmerized for scarce, fleeting moments, the nymph’s mouth parted in a display of awe, “How lovely,” before watching the bird flutter down, elegant and refined, attempting to gain Imogen’s attention. The kitsune waved her tails, tilted her head, and chirruped back, intending to make a new acquaintance with another spirit of the flora and fauna. She seemed mildly disappointed when he snagged the granted herbs and swooped to the seraph’s withers, too far out of reach. The Mender shook her head, amused, and tried to respond to Sohalia again with the same glimmer of resolution and salvation. “Don’t worry about a thing. We’ll just be glad to see you and your fellow members there.”
