Her face remained impassive as the tree stallion spoke, but her eyes held a fierceness that did not belie her strength. His claim that his intent was not to harm was not one that she believed. What stallion would just walk up to a mother and her child, not knowing them, then stand and stare them down? If he was trying to intimidate her it would not work. She had never been, nor would she ever be, an individual that spooked easily.

"And what is it that you expect to learn by approaching us and staring like a great bafoon?" Ktulu asked evenly. If he wanted to learn the extents to what a mother would go to protect her child he had picked the wrong mare to test. "Your desire to learn does not make me uncomfortable, Stallion." She informed. "However, the asinine way you go about it bothers me." Just as Birch did she let her voice trail, making it seem as if she had more to say when she didn't.
