"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Endless Night :: Dead Magic Plot ☼ - 6/22/13 - The gods of Helovia, in order to protect the world, have disappeared into the rift, leaving the world sunless, moonless and magic-less in their absence. Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

But it wasn't long before the sound of another approaching beyond the slowly shattering wall reached my ink dipped ears, causing them to flick forward and my monochromatic gaze to settle upon the ghost-like creature's movements. I watched carefully as she limped closer, wings as pale as the clouds on a bright blue sky tucked in close to her sides, nearly distracting me from the curling twin towers that sprung from her forehead. Yet another one. My blood curdled at the thought of breeding with one with wings, but it seemed my brothers or sisters weren't being quite so choosy about who they bedded any longer. The limp that stunted her strides made me curious as to if that was a birth defect from the impure DNA that ran through her body, or if there was some kind of accident. "You aren't one to judge, boy. Would you be able see if sun was up?" Any snarky remark I could think of to throw back at the bird of prey nestled on my withers was cut short by the arrival of the pale bird.
"Hello? Did you call just now?" As she drew closer I noticed that the dove not only sported her twin towers but a set of curved horns that brushed against her jaw bones just as pale and surreal as the rest of her. "Welcome to the Edge. I'm Erthë...Are you looking for someone?" A polite smile squirmed it's way across my features as the welcoming committee finished her little speech, ivory topped crown dipping low in a greeting, and when I rose back to my usual stance there stood a black and white bird who had a charming smile splattered across her pretty face. Her attention seemed to be on the younger mare for a second before kind (motherly?) eyes turned to settle upon my own bloodied frame.
"I'm Alysanne. We'd be happy to assist you in anyway we can." I smiled again as the kite shifted on my withers, taking off to settle on a pane of broken glass where he could keep a better eye on the events at hand unless he needed to intrude on my awkwardness. "It's a pleasure Lady Erthë and Lady Alysanne. I am Roux, formerly of the Aurora Basin." I shifted ever so slightly with discomfort at the mention of where I once belonged, it felt as if it had been so long ago when my family was actually still a family and not a mess nearly as shattered as the wall I stood alongside. Clearing my throat I shifted moon eyes towards the ghostly dove and nodded ever so slightly. "Mauja told me I could find my brother, Sacre, here. He's black with a red patch on his side...travels with a fox companion. Have you seen him?" "Easy boy...get a home before you start the third degree." The kite scolded me internally as I looked between the two mares who welcomed me so warmly in the middle of this chilly night.
"I was also looking to take up a position as a medic here, if that would be plausible." I finished speaking, wishing my vocal chords would stop moving before I could continue to ramble on like some kind of fool. Hopefully one of these two were someone with the ability to bring a new member into the family, otherwise I would have to deal with someone I'm sure would be less than pleasant at this time of night.
