While tiring the journey had been most enchanting, and in the most wonderful company. Tilney stood adorned by his favourite green cloak and lions mane collar, glancing excitedly from one festival attraction to the next. While his sister, Maude and Ultima walked beside him he told them all tales of his time spent here in the Aurora Basin as a Scourge. He recognised instantly the looming figure of the Reaper, and also that of Hotaru - He could recall enduring a most horrible wildfire with this mare, and little did he know at the time that she was in fact the Lady of his former home. He daren't mention to Maude that this was where he and hi mother had lived before they both made their way to the Edge - any mention of her absent mother might destroy her entire night. Tilney had hoped she would be here to reminisce with him, and hoped many other things that involved that antlered mare. That she would return home to he and Maude for example. The dual pennoned swan soon left his hip, attracted by a vibrant female offering what sounded like fortune telling. She chanted a rhyme, something that Tilney hoped wasn't some terrible spell. Stepping among the onlookers, the flaxen physician watched as Ultima was told of a new acquaintance on the horizon, someone who could be friend or foe. It concerned him, the possibility that a new enemy could soon be in Ultimas life - an enemy to her was not a friend to him. Surveying each telling, he stepped back a few paces to give each of the gypsies visitors some privacy until there was barely a crowd left. He stepped forwards to meet the pale woman, verdant eyes smiling her way "Good evening" Tilney uttered to her. "I am Tilney, a Moon Doctor from the World's Edge". |
