If Katua was fire, Maude was the wind.

Playfully dancing from one place to another, occasionally stirring things under-hoof, and passing others over completely, she often breathlessly chattered at anyone who would listen to her, and when there was no one to talk to, she made her own music, or conversation with imagined gentlefolk. She loved to move, the world moving by her in blurred streaks of color, or to not move at all, learning how those same colors all worked together to create the tiniest details of the world.

The little pearl and ginger filly was currently tending to a shrub, for no particular reason than to practice some of what she’d learned that morning. Tenderly snipping the branches with her teeth, the girl trimmed away some of the dead things, and even some of the still living ones, to give the plant plenty of space to grow when Birdsong returned.

She’d just trimmed away one such ending of a branch when a squirrel wildly dashes through the heart of her carefully cared for shrub, and with a gasp of surprise, she drops her leafy stem.

Oh!” blurts the girl, following the creature’s wild dash away with wide, citrine eyes, “where are you off to, mister?

The answer is the wildfire of her friend. Like an unstoppable force, Katua blasts through the bush, sending its carefully arranged branches every which way, and even badly breaking a few. Had the spotted blur destroying the shrub been anyone else, Maude might have squealed in frustration, and chased after them in vengeance for all her hard work being so disturbed. That it was Tutti, however, resulted in a girlish squeal of delight, and a wild chase to catch up to her, the deduction that they were chasing the squirrel made after she’d begun running.

Hey, Katua!” she called, breathlessly giggling as she dodged around and leapt over all the objects her friend simply blazed through, “wait up – ooh no!

…where’d he go?” Tutti is shouting, and Maude has to almost plant her butt on the ground in order to stop in time. Sliding in alongside her friend, Maude barely has time to stop and look up at the large number of equines present before Katua is off again.

Her eyes instinctively follow her friend out of the clearing, but her manners win out over her desperate desire to keep up with Katua. Curtsying towards those present, she smiles at steady Zubari with the most warmth. What she notices most immediately is that the conversation is far too serious to be interesting, but the presence of King Tembovu makes her stay long enough to at least apologize for interrupting.

Hi!” exhales the copper kissed fawn swiftly, her citrine eyes locking on Kiada, and then between Tembovu, and the mare who seemed to be Kiada’s mom, “Sorry!

She tosses her white forelock out of her eyes as she speaks (like the hair is at all long enough to blind her in the first place…), and, without missing a beat, she happily charges back out of the gathering after Katua, leaving only the sound of her laughter where she’d been moments before.

[ OOC: Maude also rudely plows through after Katua, but stops long enough to oogle Kiada and apologize. :'D ]

Hold onto this lullaby, even when the music's gone.
