Amalrik had been travelling with Ellie ever since the encounter at the shoreline, and he wandered about aimlessly as his cousin's guard. She was adventurous but still so young, and he wanted to be there for her as much as he could. Besides, for a kid, she wasn't all that bad! She was smart, funny and had this adorable black dragon as a companion. Part of him was a bit jealous, but he didn't let it affect him - too much.

Together, they came across a blood red lake under the light of the moon, and a tiny demon sat upon a rock. It was playing a game with them, but it all seemed in good fun! Amalrik laughed and shoved his cousin with his shoulder. "Let's play, Ells," he said, chuckling. "I'll choose TREAT!"
