It had been a good idea, Mercutio decided, to take some time on his own after his day with Cera. For the first time in a long time he'd had fun but the strength of his own reaction had scared him. That the golden painted stallion had been able to extract a promise from him that Mercutio would visit the Dragon's Throat and that was strange enough, but the vagabond had far to strong an urge to keep that promise, and soon. Take some time, he told himself, see other things, meet other people, and it'll all go back to normal. Normal being a solitary wandering, hopping from distraction to distraction. The Blood-colored wood was interesting enough, and Mercutio let himself get lost in it for a time. He came across the gathering presided over by the yellow-eyed ram and approached with a pleasant curiosity. He watched as others picked there tricks and treats, strange things and chuckled. A game of chance? Well, at least it passed the time. A charming grin upon his bearded face he stepped forward, "A trick for me, if you please." I know myself a hypocrite, a coward, and a fool. |
