Tilney had been young when he lat visited the falls. Unburdened by parenthood and commitment to his position on the council of his herd. Clean of guilt he had been also. Perhaps returning to this place and remembering how simple his existence had been when he spoke with his friend Rexanna by the blood red pool and she told him of her heartache and Calstron.
Perhaps that was the only scary part of halloween for Tilney; looking back instead of forwards and wishing he could tell himself it gets worse.

Approaching a gathering, Tilneys gaze barely missed his young one. If he caught her away from home and here of all places she was in big big trouble, so lucky for her his eyes were drawn elsewhere - to that of a sabatic looking ram.
