"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Isopia in places deep with roots entwined
i live among you, well disguised
It was quite easy to get to the higher meadows that comprised the upper parts of the Heavenly Fields if you had wings. For those who didn't, surely it would be a bit of a hike. Despite Isopia's penchant for learning new things, she didn't in fact make herself walk up the long and winding pathways to reach the field where she currently stood - she had taken the easy way out and flown here. But that was only because her mind so full, and her chest so full of anxious feelings and intellectual compromise. She flew, so that her mind could better untangle the web of mixed emotions inside of herself.
At first the demigoddess thought the feel was merely indigestion. Some species of heart burn, or possibly an upset stomach. However when neither water, nor relieving her bowels decreased her symptoms, she concluded that the feeling must actually by psychological. Despite her academic prowess, it did sort of surprise her to know that her mind could have such a drastic effect on her body, especially an effect that she hadn't intended. Though the Mountain believed she had done everything permissibly during her conversation with Alysanne and the challenge that it had led to, she was still left with a nagging weight that would not go away.
Was she upset that so many had seemingly turned against her? That was very unlike her - Isopia, the stoic. Isopia the needer of no one, Isopia the asshole. One did not receive such monikers if they truly cared about the opinions of others ... did they? Over and over Isopia replayed the conversation in her mind, considering what else she might have said and what Alysanne might have responded with in turn. Again and again she weighed the morals, thought of the moral compass-stone given to her by the tree, and ultimately concluded the same thing: given a chance, she would do everything precisely the same a second time around.
When was the last time he’d hauled himself up here? Sacre actually couldn’t remember the last time he had visited the fields above and it had been that long, in fact, he’d even forgotten how much of a time waster it was to travel up the rocky path to reach the top. He almost wanted to give up in the middle, feeling close to certain that he had no desperate need to be travelling into the heavens, but he was already half way up by the time he thought about giving up and so he might as well continue the journey. It didn’t help that there were a pair of foxes bounding in front of him, their light feet hardly touching the ground in comparison to Sacre’s burdensome plod up the hill. All in all, he was probably complaining too much, he had come to the fields to search for signs of Roux though, considering his recent results of searching, the fox-boy didn’t hold out much hope for success. Still, in his heart, there was a tiny ember of hope that simmered like a small candle light, that maybe, just maybe, Roux might be around the next corner and so, for that reason, Sacre never lingered too long in one place. The weight of the red arrow, tied messily into his tail, suddenly felt heavier as always it did when Sacre thought about his twin brother. At least it hadn't glowed... Yet.
When at last he reached the top he halted with a great sigh of relief, enjoying the playful wind against his fatigued face whilst he caught his breath and looked around. Perhaps today might be the day he would find the familiar flicker of red in the distance and Roux would return to him. He began to plod forwards once again, regaining his composure and raising his head as the duo of foxes bounced along beside him. There was nothing but grass and leaves, mountains filled the background and— a flicker of red. Yet, this wasn't the familiar red Sacre was looking for and his heart skipped only to crash painfully back to earth a moment later. This really wasn't the blushing cherry boy from his childhood, but instead he saw a cape tied to a not so unfamiliar mare.
Sacre blinked in surprise. Wasn't she... "Czarina?" he called out to her, inquisitively. For a moment, he didn't know where to put himself. He had no problem walking straight up to Jiji or Alysanne, but perhaps it was watching the fight earlier that made him pause before waltzing straight up to the tall, knowledgable Mountain. She could turn into a dragon and smite him at any point after all, and he was certainly no elephant shifter like Tembovu. The fox-boy bit his lip and flashed his best charming smile, walking across to greet her, his curiosity blazingly clear through his bright blue eyes.
"It is you!" he exclaimed, as if he could have forgotten. Even afte the revealation left his mouth he could almost feel Inari's eye roll in exasperation from behind his foreleg. Ríona, on the other hand, was far too busy eyeing the cape and wondering if the lovely tall girl would mind if she played with it for a little while. "Are you well? What brings you here?" the healer asked after a prolonged moment of thinking, he had hundreds of things he could ask or say, but the fox-boy never knew where to start, especially since he didn't know the Czarina at all. Maybe she didn't want to be intruded, but Sacre feared that if he asked if she minded his company, she might rebuff him and send him away. He'd only just made it up here, hauling his ass up the stoney path, after all.

Czarina?
Not that Isopia was the type to offer outward expressions of her internal states, but if you looked closely, you could see her brows knit together slightly, and a small puff of air escape her lips in a way that suggested some sort of mild frustration. In truth, Isopia could decide if she liked being address by her real name (her secret name, that she wished no one knew), or her new title as a leader. Being called Isopia felt as though something personal was being violated. Being called Czarina usually meant that someone was going to ask her for something. Or, in light of recent things, to blame her for something.
Turning, the quad-horned mare was surprised to see a rather appealing looking unicorn stallion moving her direction, led by two foxes. >>No, fox and kitsune<< Hubris corrected. From his position, he could see the multiple tails of the paler of the two foxes, and mentally showed this image to his bonded as justification.
Isopia's golden eyes stared wonderingly as Sacre confirmed that yes, she was the Czarina he had been referring to. Almost skeptically, she waited for him to levy some charge against her (he was from the Edge of course, and it wouldn't surprise her at all if he had something to say about the recent events concerning the stolen bags). But when he asked if she was well, and the inquired about her reasons for being up here (presumably this was just small talk), the Mountain was slightly taken aback.
"Well enough." She answered vaguely, still wondering if there was some context she wasn't understanding. Well enough to fight again? she wondered. Was there something more she owed the Edge? Some follow up to the challenge? Was that why he was asking about her location?
Annoyed with Isopia's state of mind, Hubris left from his position and glided towards the two foxes. A toothy grin was plastered on his bronzey features, and he angled his descent at quite a distance from the pair, not wanting to seem intimidating. He hadn't participated in the challenge after all, but perhaps they still thought him a thread. With a trill of greeting, Hubris waved his clawed hands, looking back and forth between the duo with a happy sea-blue stare.
Remembering something Zero had asked her, something that she didn't know the answer to, Isopia suddenly voiced this thought ( as opposed to perhaps asking Sacre how he was, or what he was doing up here). "How long have you lived in the Edge? Did you live there before the Invasion?"
