She wasn’t trying to leave. No, she just simply escaped from the side of her favorite brother only to miss the place he had managed to run off to. A soft sigh slipped past her pink snipped lips as she touched the compass placed gently against her neck, frustrated that the thing didn’t work like it used to – able to show the direction of the thing she wanted the most – and instead, the needle point simply fell toward the ground in every which direction. Frustrated, and with a broken compass, Aelfwine found herself among the dunes of the Endless Blue, where Kisamoa had asked them to help him revive an old land. It was a silly endeavor, really, and she hadn’t trusted the man to simply swim beneath the waves. Surely, the strange god had it out to kill them. But he hadn’t, and she had stayed on the shore looking like a fool as she waited with baited breath on whether or not those that dove beneath the waves would ever return to the surface.

They had, and time moved on. The Goddess came down and created a beautiful mosaic of glass to be able to slip down into and see the reef those that had gone down helped to bring life back to. It was a silly task, really, but oh, was it beautiful. She found her gaze landing on the glittering glass when she came to reality from her thoughts, the sand sticking to her grey-scaled pelt as she stood from the dunes. Then, quietly, she glanced around a bit hoping to find the beautiful man that she had lost. She was really terrible at following people – losing first Tuppence, and now Barty. If she wanted to be a sneak, she needed to realize her flaws and actually try to fix them instead of pushing it off as if it were nothing of importance.

But, suddenly, a small shadow of a dot peeked from her horizon line, a creature that upon closer inspection was just the man she was looking for. A grin spread across her lips as she picked up her cloven hooves, tossing her heavy crowned head into the sky and running at a brisk canter to catch up to Bartholomeo. “Brother!” She called out, at first, unsure if he’d recognize her voice yet or not. “Bart!” She called again, her tone trilling on the wind as she caught up. When she finally did, she grinned to him a bright white smile while her emerald gaze studied her brother and his own equally as beautiful verdant gaze. “I didn’t mean to lose you, we have so much to talk about.” She admitted, flicking her ebony tail against her hips nervously, unsure what Barty had been up to all those years of his leave.

"Talk."

i don't chase.
i conquer —
you will crumble like rome for me.
