Cedar heartwod...
Wood from a cedar... from the heart?
How on earth does one obtain such a thing. Trees bleed, but do they have hearts?
Perhaps their only option was to knock down such a tree by any means possible - Fortunately for Tilney, all his past decoctions had resulted from collecting wood after a storm had uprooted various cedars around their homeland. Even with frostfalls grumbles they had no such luck.

Venturing from the greenhouse, Tilney set out wearing his cloak and lions mane collar and with an added groan or two about how he despised the weather so the chestnut was on his way in search of a suitable victim for the cedar heartwood collection.
Admiring the trees as he went, he would make sure to pick the ugliest one he found. Perhaps he'd be doing the forest a service that way. With some luck (the kind he never had) Sacre would show up as requested in the meeting to aid him; there really was no way to knock down a cedar with hooves alone and Tilney was quite sure they'd be leaving with bruised soles and no heartwood.
It could be worth the try though.

Setting his viridescent eyes upon the most bent, unshapely and malignant tree in the forest, Tilney chewed on his maw as he tossed over ideas on how he could possibly lop this one down. As ugly as it was it was healthy and strong and it wasn't coming down easy.
"Sacre!" the chestnut groaned, giving his hoof an agitated stomp. He didn't mean any harm, really he'd just given up already and wanted someone else to assess the stupid situation or come up with some miraculous plan with him. Sling shot? Ram it? Find someone with magic powerful enough?

ooc; task for healers (and any herd members are welcome)! following on from the meeting.

I feel inadequate
Thinking I'm a monster in disguise

After the meeting Sacre didn't waste much time following the Doctor from the Greenhouse to wherever it was they were meant to gather their ingredient. Ever since Tilney had assigned him his task, which wasn’t all that long ago, he had puzzled over it… Ceder Heartwood? How on earth were they meant to retrieve that? For a start, Sacre didn’t even know such a thing existed and even if it did, how did he tell the heartwood from the normal wood? Or was it the same? Did it look different? Did it beat? The amount of questions the fox-boy had sent his mind into a spiral, as he followed the antlered Doctor, he barely nodded to his remarks about the weather as he dawdled behind, pondering his confounding task. Inari and Ríona were more than happy to go seek out this heart and left their poor, wandering bonded behind as they bounded after Timmy Tilney with a new adventure at their feet. When Sacre eventually caught up he was met by the good Doctor's groan as he considered a mangled Ceder and the fox-boy twisted his head to one side.

"Tilney" he groaned back, looking at the tree in great confusion, wondering why the Doctor had set a task that he himself seemed perplexed by. Couldn't they go flower picking? That sounded much nicer... "so, what are we meant to do? Knock it down?" at the latter suggestion Sacre looked the Ceder up and down wondering how on earth they were going to do it.

"We could... zap it" he said, looking thoughtfully at Ríona who suddenly looked very interested in what Sacre might say, but as soon as the fox-boy mentioned it he realised his problem "ahhhh but that might set fire to the entire woodland" he groaned again. What else? His arrow? It was no more useful that the horn on his head. His blood sucking magic would also be entirely unhelpful when it came to felling trees. In the end, he joined Tilney in his frustration; he had a horn, an arrow and a kitsune, yet still this twisted Ceder tree stood in his way.

"I mean, unless someone with great magic comes along, we'll have to kick it and hope for the best" he smiled lop-sidedly, raising his brows at Tilney, waiting to see if the Doctor had any other plan whilst Sacre turned his backend towards the tree. "Unless there is a way to get to the heartwood without knocking it down" he shrugged, relying on Tilney's greater knowledge of the material. The idea that the warriors could carry their own decoction to help aid them with any injuries they recieved sounded like a grand idea, however, especially if there wasn't a healer in their immediate viscinity. Of the many things Sacre wished to learn, healing without magic was one of them, not everyone had the powers to stitch themselves back together, but a little basic knowledge may save lives later.

"Have you made it before?" he asked curiously.
