With skill in the air that he could only have dreamed of a few months ago, Arakh angles his way through the trees. Although his technique still leaves a lot to be desired, the colt now has enough agility and strength in his wing-arms to maneuvre himself through the tight spaces of the forest, and he can stay airborne for as long as he wants. There's a whole new world for the grullo calf now that he can fly, and he spends countless hours soaring through Helovia, examining the world he now thinks he owns. With a tilt of his feathered wings, Arakh lands heavily in the clearing. His first thought isn't the decorated tree or the talking turtle - it's his sister, because if she's here, she'll probably be terrified. Lifting his proud bull-horned head, the colt gives a series of bleats, trying to determine if sister-calf is here in amongst the sea of legs. He worries for her daily, and he knows such a crowd could deeply upset her. Moving forwards, it occurs to the calf that others seem to be putting something precious of theirs onto the tree. He frowns, and feels the weight of the clay figurine in his mane that Esinakh made him - somehow it is just too precious to give to the tree. What if he doesn't get it back, if it gets lost in the chaos? No, he's going to keep that little clay figure safe upon his person, to forever remind him of his sister even when they're apart. Instead he pulls out a feather that he keeps entwined in his mane. Unlike so many of his siblings, Arakh did not take one of Gaucho's feathers when the Wildfire died, seeing it as needlessly gruesome and maudlin. Instead, one of his own grullo feathers rests in his mane, which he'd shed during his first attempted flight under the Wildfire's tuition. It reminds him of his father, and he cherishes it deeply. Reluctantly he drops it on the tree, careful to note where it is so he can get it back later. "This feather from first time Arakh flew. Reminds Arakh of his Ave." The large colt glowers around, daring anybody to mock his choice of item. |
