without the other
Dark hooves crunched in unison in the snow, ’Cold’, was his companion’s sharp, annoyed, dark voice in his head. She had begun to speak; though her words were carefully chosen and razor-sharp in his mind. His ebony tail flicked in obvious irritation, ’Yes, snow is cold,’ was his mental reply.
Then his attention returned to the turtle, tree, and gather of creatures before them. Though part of his mind was forever on Kiada at his side—an innate attraction that he couldn’t deny even if he had wanted to (and he didn’t want to). He paused, watching what others had put on the tree limbs, sharp mind assessing and dismissing most of what he saw. A few things were of use—a skull, a gold band, pearls. The colt cocked his head slightly, a dark grin creasing his muzzle, “See anything you like, sister?” his deep murmur slipped into his twin’s ear, warm with breath and with jest. His dark lips then gently lipped her lobe, before gently snagging a strand of her silken, white forelock.
Approaching the tree, he strung one of Keusi’s deciduous canines she had just recently lost along with his sister’s hair, “The two parts of me,” was his low, surprisingly genuine murmur to the turtle as he hung his ornamentation on a dark, shadowed, empty limb. And then his sharp gaze flickered to his sister while Si yipped in eerie approval.
Kianso puts a strand of Kiada's forelock with one of Keusi's lost baby teeth on the tree!
