so i listen to the    wind for an answer
The morning brings a clear, blue sky kind of day. The air is warming, though it’s still cold there’s a promise of a distant spring lingering in the air. The snow-covered ground feels a bit slushier than usual, the sky a little bluer than normal. Still, the world is stark and wintery, but she finds it’s a pleasant day. Frostfall this time around was easier than her first winter here. Morham never got quite so cold, and add to that the recent loss of her family and the whole thing where she’d have to flee from her home and well….she tries not to think about Frostfall a year ago.

With such a beautiful sky beckoning though, Lyanna leaps from the cliffs of the Edge and takes to the sky. She has no plan today, but Arah had reminded them that this time of year brings the Earth Turtle and the Giving Tree, and since this is Helovia, who knows what else. So she sets off to simply go somewhere, anywhere. A day out of the Edge would be good for her anyway, and she cannot, in truth, resist a nice morning flight on a day as pretty (albeit chilly) as today.

She heads south, eventually finding herself in the Thistle Meadow. It’s not a place she comes often, but a place that has led to good memories. She thinks of teaching Alysanne to fly here, mostly. One of the first real moments she’d had here, where she felt like she had a friend and not just a mentor who’d been stuck teaching Lyanna how to live in this place.

A year feels so short, and yet like a lifetime all at once. Helovia felt like home now, and Morham like a home from another life. Yet she still missed her parents and her siblings like she’d lost them yesterday. It simply was easier to deal with their loss. But the meadows and the forests of Helovia felt like home. She didn’t dream of Morham as she had. Didn’t find it strange that she was in the Thistle Meadow today, and not the lavender fields of Morham.

She wasn’t sure if she’d ever fully feel like she belonged here. It’s not as if she came by choice, though she did, at least, stay by choice. But it felt like home now, and that was something.

@Valkyrie - sorry for the wait! I don't think I'll be quite so slow after this
