The feathered mare cannot ignore the presence of the male at her side. Her subdued eyes watch as he does the same – offering a navy feather. Ru inhales his scent for that of the Dragon’s Throat, ignoring the male musk that clung to him. Does she stare for too long? Perhaps, but her gaze remains cryptic, until he catches her with a cerulean glance and smiles.
Ru's neck feathers flare – she’s been noticed among the sea of Helovian invaders. For some reason – for there must be one – he has invited her into his world, however brief and random it truly was.
She isn’t familiar with the expression that parches his black lips. A challenge? Fire sparks in her eyes, her spirit thrums with the opportunity to fight him – but before he can follow through, the stallion turns his gaze to the tree and leaves. Just leaves! A frown mars her face, sharp however pleasantly naïve in the wake of something so simple. Ru’s lips pierce the air with a lost chirp, following his path with her eyes.
A laugh draws her back to the massive reptile. Ears pressed forwards. Soon, here and there, she catches sight of the gifts that appear. She’s struck with a knowing sadness however, when she finds herself omitted from the gifts. It hurts her more than she should let it, but it strikes failure into her psyche – yearning for her mother, as she glances between the families that hold each other tight.
Curious, despite her shortcomings, the Pegasus trails Sunjata’s path. The crowd too thick, that she cannot make out Lyanna – doesn’t even know she’s there. But the mare is determined to figure out why she didn’t get anything in return. Failure is inevitably returned with jealousy.
If the feather wasn’t worth it, then the white and blue stranger should not have received anything in return. Right? To make it appear less obvious, she detours and saddles herself beside him. A comfortable berth between them, far from intimate - hopefully he won’t even notice.
She stops with a large puff of air escaping her lips. Head held high, gaze glaring out at the tree. Omitting to her curiosity, she searches for any trinkets and things about him. Ah - he did get something, she half seethes, half pouts, and settles a disappointed scan across the gatherings.
The turtle’s laughter runs a shiver through her spine, its depth fills in the gaps left over from frostfall’s talons. She looses sight of her jealousy when it swells with a much needed comfort, warmth that relaxes the muscles across her jaw and wings.
New beginnings eh? Ru wanted to scoff, shrug this good for nothing merriness. But the aches that left her lonely and wanting submit to the opportunity of believing it all.
The mare’s gaze softens, her lower lip loosens, slightly ajar as the ‘Giving Tree’ gleams. Warmth radiating from out of those branches, embracing her soul like no one had ever done before. She takes in a sharp breath, forgetting to breathe.
This light was addictive, healing, she wanted it to last forever.
