It was Hubris who had spotted the egg, and who had made the deduction about what was inside.
"Why would I want another you?" Isopia asked outloud, as they flew through the darkening sky, painted with greens and blues and purples. >>I am good for you<< Hubris responded simply, dropping his body from their lofty heights and descending down towards the unmistakable figure of Matheo. It could only be her nephew after all (or..second cousin, or whatever it was that they were), for light dripped off of his pale body despite the fact that it was nearly midnight. Isopia had no real desire to see him, kin or not, but she knew that there was no arguing with Hubris.
That, and whatever creature the boy was talking to was certainly not one that she had seen before.
Landing, and folding her wings around her, the demi-goddess walked forward, golden eyes peering through the darkness. Hubris held the glowing acorn charm she'd received from her father, to light her way. Her cape billowed out behind her like a swath of blood-wind.
"I've not seen one such as you before." Isopia said as she neared. She nodded her quad-horned skull towards Matheo, but her gaze immediately returned to the creature. He was so large, so frightening looking, and yet ... he was here all alone. Why? Why would such a powerful creature be so isolated?
>>You like to be isolated<< Hubris chirped into her mind, and with that, Isopia fell silent.
Maybe one more wouldn't hurt.
