"I’m sure you’d be welcome there," he tells Syrena with a warm smile, remembering, too, the awkward encounter in the Threshold, but not poking fun at either of their social failures that afternoon in the process; though he soon moves away to begin the Yeti’s tasks, he adds, "perhaps there are fewer rivers, but I found great happiness in the years I lived there, before. I’m sure anyone who came to the Moon’s wood could find a place to belong there."

Yet then everyone is moving, and the crowns are studiously examined, and appraised by the creature, to no definitive end, as the crafter can tell.

Though a sizeable mound of crowns, circlets, and creations has amassed at the grizzly creature’s weird feet, the beast still is not appeased, claiming it needs help to gather more things. Dragomir’s brows rise slightly at this greed, wondering how many objects each horse will accrue for the Yeti before it deems its dictations complete, but goes along with the ordeal, regardless.

Sure the abominable snowman could get his own lunch if he so desired, the stallion decides that the creature would rather see what sort of things a horse decided such a thing as a Yeti would like. This decision is based purely on Dragomir’s own inquisitive nature, and how he might react and do things, were he some mountain animal that had somehow had all its things stolen and replaced with a random egg.

He assumes it’s not the Yeti’s egg because the Yeti has fur, and usually, only things with scales and feathers have yet-living offspring, trapped in mother crafted, tiny cubicles.

What Dragomir returns to the creature with is perhaps less lavish than the elk and tossed wild squirrel salads that others offer. He notes the young man offering water to the beast with a smile, but otherwise ambles towards the creature with what he could find, considering that all killable or culled beasts in the vicinity had seemingly been claimed by the others vying for the Yeti’s egg.

He had stared for a while at a gaggle of bald sparrow hatchlings, but the thought of them being crunched up in the greedy beast’s filthy teeth makes the soft hearted crafter feel weak at the knees. So, instead of any living thing whatsoever, what Dragomir accrues is a collection of wild berries and flowers, which he arranges neatly at the feet of the Yeti, when he returns, before quietly moving away, to allow others to approach.
