Mauja the FrostHeart
ice cold man watches earth die, eternal winter takes its reign

Despite the fact that Mauja had a way of staying cool, physically, the weather was grating on him. Or maybe it was because of his cool temperature that he really hated warmth? Possible. The King grunted and kept walking at a slow pace. He had no idea how far these queer rocks stretched out before him, and he didn't really want to stumble onto the lake and be forced to be all "ohai guys didn't mean to". He'd rather be found out here, where it wasn't really rude for him to be. Just... slightly rude. The spotted stallion sighed and tried to stick closer to the side of the funnel, but the sun was overhead and little shadow was cast. He was beginning to regret this a lot, but leaving his sneaky scent here and just hightailing it back to home would be a lot more suspicious.

In a way, he was very thankful when the Pegasus showed up. He heard the steady boom of wings first, and muttering a thanks to the Moon he stopped walking and stood where he was, pale and sweaty among their precious red rocks. His intention had been to walk far enough to get attention, and unless his ears and these rocks deceived him, he had. With the patience of winter, Mauja waited for the flyer to appear.

It was a blue-black stallion with a giant wingspan. The FrostHeart peered up at his shape, cursing the sun's glare, and decided that the stallion was probably a bit smaller than himself. Which would also make him faster. He came down to land in front of Mauja, who gave him a nod as way of greeting. The Edge King had a notion that the Order of the Sun had been mixed, so either this was one of them, or a band of Pegasus had really kicked them out. He'd prefer the latter. Pegasus over Sun-followers any day. Pegasus Sun-followers? Those he'd gladly impale on an ice spike and sacrifice to the Moon. Curiously, his head tilted to the side, his thick mane plastered to his sweaty neck. There wasn't any rush of wind to speak of either, the air was stagnant. It also smelled very much of stallion Pegasus right now. It wasn't Mauja's favorite scent, but... What now? The second unicorn from the Edge? Mauja ran a quick calculation and decided that it probably was Lotus, d'Artagnan or Seiren. Ulrik wouldn't go here unless it was with an invasion force, nor would Ambrose, he guessed. Possibly Psyche... He stopped thinking about it, registering the name and rank instead. Azzuen, warrior. Mauja, King. Bow.

"Mauja, of the Edge," he said, omitting his rank. And, wait, what, he was being invited to the lake, just like that? They sure were a friendly bunch. What if he had hid an entire army in his shadow? Mauja gave a mental shrug. "I've heard rumors of a power shift, and came to investigate." He decided to leave it at that, asking an Order member if they had been defeated could possibly incite a rage. Fanatics had a way of being like that - something he knew from his own experience. After all, it did ignite a smoldering rage in his heart whenever someone denounced the Moon.
angels, they fell first, but I'm still here
